Dr. Ellen C Pearlstein, MD

Dr. Pearlstein has an extraordinary range of experience and great success rate. Many patients have been in her care for a long, long time. For 20 years she has renewed my health often. A new office at 333 W 57th is comfortable and calming. Her bedside manner is compassionate and intuitive. She receives new patients with an upbeat attitude and attention to detail. I recommend her without hesitation. If you should need a second opinion, she'll teach you more about the situation than the doctor who made the diagnosis. Dr. Pearlstein is caring, and you will feel better after seeing her.

This was overall a not helpful appointment. I needed a new PCP as my old one left the practice and I found good reviews for her somewhere and was looking forward. She was a bit practice, unhelpful, non-empathic, and a bit rude about questions and comments. The office itself was very old and did not have sinks, so she used antibacterial rather than washing her hands. I'm usually not picky but I was in a bit of pain and ultimately left feeling worse about everything than better. Poor bedside manner overall. Best to find another doctor.

this doctor is bizarre and so is her office mate! the office should be in Bellevue!

The worst treatment I have ever had from a doctor in NYC.

Her office and equipment look 50 years old. She does talk a great deal about herself and includes non-sequitars. I want to get in and get out and every session is made to drag on and take 5x longer than it needs to while she tinkers at her computer. She's bizarre and slow. And her receptionist is clipped and rude. I think the people the doctor's hire to be the first you meet says alot about the doctor. So, if they're rude, something will be off with the doctor for finding that acceptable.

was misdiagnosed and told when medication didn't work to go somewhere else,doctor wouldn't even come to the phone, information was relayed by her receptionist. was kept waiting almost 2 hours and told if " I had a problem with it, to leave". Very cold and uncaring health professional who would be better off doing research.

I found her very sarcastic and impatient and I absolutely would not recommend her to anyone.

I called saying I might be having chest pains on a friday, but i wasn't sure.. they told me to come in on MONDAY since it was a holiday coming up and they were busy. Told me she'd sign some disability papers for work, when they arrived she left me hanging out there and wouldn't sign them. No follow up on test results. She's not incompetent with medical knowledge, however,it's the logistics that will get you in trouble with her. If you don't really need her and just go for an annual physical and have no problem, she'd be fine.
