Dr. Elliot J Trester, MD

Dr. Trester is great, he really listens and is a good diagnostician with MANY years of experience who stays abreast of current medical trends. I have been impressed with the quality of referrals I have gotten from him. In general I have found that the good doctors travel in circles with the other good doctors and if you can find a really smart well respected GP, when you need specialist help, you have much better odds of being referred to someone who's also top in their field. Central Family Practice, where he currently practices, is fairly unique. It does not take insurance, and although the out of pocket is greater than with insurance or in-network co-pays, the actual cost is much lower if you don't have insurance, because they don't have to make up the difference from uninsured patients. I like Central Family because they have a healthy respect for all kinds of medicine and have on site accupuncturists and are willing to mix east and west. ALSO, Dr. Trester is simply a… mensch. He spent a couple years not that long ago in South America with Drs. Without Borders (Medecin sin Frontier) and speaks fluent Spanish. He's funny as heckity-heck, too.
