Dr. Elliott S Attisha, DO

Dr. Hani N. Sabbah is tenured Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and tenured Professor of Medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Sabbah is also the Director of Cardiovascular Research at the Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, Michigan. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Oklahoma and his Doctorate in Biomedical Sciences and Medical Physics from Oakland University. The Cardiovascular Research Laboratories at Henry Ford Health System function as a multidisciplinary center fully focused on understanding the pathophysiology of heart failure and on the development and testing of novel therapeutic modalities for the treatment of this disease syndrome. Laboratories directed by Dr. Sabbah include traditional biochemistry, molecular biology, cell electrophysiology, pathology and immunohistochemistry as well as organ and whole body physiology. Dr. Sabbah is the principal …investigator on numerous research grants, awards and contracts from the National Institutes of Health, national and local health organizations as well as national and international industrial concerns. Dr. Sabbah is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Chest Physicians, and a fellow of the American Heart Association. He is the author of over 20 book chapters, over 300 peer reviewed publications and over 500 abstract presented at national and international scientific conferences. Dr. Sabbah is a member of the Executive Council of the Heart Failure Society of America and a member of numerous other local, state, national and international executive and scientific committees on cardiovascular disease and heart failure. He is the recipient of the 2005 American Heart Association Seymour Gordon Award for Distinguished Achievement. Dr. Sabbah is member of the editorial board of several peer-reviewed scientific journals and is the Co Editor-in-Chief of the journal Heart Failure Reviews.
