Dr Lou Treated my Dad for pancreatic cancer. We went to Maplewood oncology as well as the Mayo clinic Before we went to the U of M. both Maplewood and Mayo treated my Dad as if he should go home and give up since he was 79 years old. Dr Lou and his team however treated my DAd like a human being whom was suffering. They have him options and a optimistic view to fight this cancer. Without Dr Lou and his team my Dad would have died much sooner than he did. We got 8 great months with Dad thanks to the chemo and Dr Lou's team. they were all so wonderful to us. Dr Lou has a terrific outlook and smile. He has so much charm and charisma. He cares about his patients and who they are. I tell everyone I know about the U of M and the cancer clinic and Dr Lou. He is terrific!

Dr Lou was fantastic with my father - and gave him 6 months more than I am sure he would have had with other doctors. He is very knowledgeable but listens to your concerns and answers them. Plus his entire staff/team are AWESOME.

Dr Lou was assigned to me after my diagnosis of cecal cancer, and I am SO thankful the planets lined up to make this possible. I've been in his care for over a year now, and haven't a bad experience ever. He is intelligent, funny, and refreshingly direct and forthright. He always manages to say the right thing, whether delivering great or not-great news. His experience is above par, coming from 2 of the most prestigious programs in the US. He returns phone calls quickly, never keeps me waiting, and spends tons of time with me on each visit.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lou's for almost a year, for Stage III colon cancer. Dr. Lou has always been informative and helpful, never rude. Throughout my treatment phase, he and his team have always been on top of things, and there was never a time I felt like my questions were not answered. I would recommend him to any family member, or friend. He is an excellent doctor.
