AVOID. This Doctors office is impossible to work with. Never call you back, cancel appointments. Bad Experience

AVOID Dr. Liao and seek a different doctor instead!!! I recently saw Dr. Liao to have her look at my thyroid ultrasound and she immediately diagnosed me with an autoimmune disease after reading my ultrasound results and told me there is absolutely nothing I can do about it and in fact, it will possibly get worse if I ever choose to get pregnant!!!! And that I will possibly have to be on thyroid medication down the line. I'm 23 and left her office scared and with no hope, treatment, or advice from a medical professional about what to do or what lifestyle/dietary changes I could possibly make. Thankfully I trusted my gut and went for a second opinion elsewhere and found out that you can absolutely NOT diagnose someone with Hashimoto without doing an antibody blood test. The antibody test is what determines if you have it or not. How could she diagnose someone with something without doing the required blood work?!!!! After seeking a second opinion and doing the required bloodwork, my… antibody blood test came back NEGATIVE. I do not have an autoimmune disease. If I listened to Dr. Liao's med pushing mindset and over-diagnosing, I would be sitting here today believing I have an autoimmune disease I don't have!!! Go see a different doctor instead who you can trust.

My daughter was wrongly diagnosed by Dr. Liao with an Autoimmune disease for which she never ran any necessary bloodwork! She sat there and told a 23 year old she had Hashimoto Thyroiditis based on one indicator on an ultrasound. She told my daughter it will likely get worse as she ages or if she ever got pregnant, and again, never ran bloodwork! No antibody test, nothing. She clearly had no clue as to the importance of iodine or any other vitamins or minerals. Dismissive of environmental, lifestyle or dietary changes for healing. Here we have just another medication pushing Doctor with zero nutritional education or knowledge. We did the right thing and went for a 2nd opinion, got the required antibody test and comprehensive bloodwork and my daughter tested negative for Hashimoto and all her bloodwork is just fine. Dr. Liao also likes expensive procedures and lots of medication, shots and infusions. We had a terrible experience and did not trust her at all.

Dr. Liao is a fantastic doctor. She goes way beyond typical services in extending herself to provide patient care and is extremely responsive. She takes time to explain all test results and to answer any questions and is not only brilliant but kind, personable and caring. I fully trust her with my healthcare and wish there were more physicians like her! In short, I think she's the best doctor in New York City.

Dr. Liao today is intelligent, patient and spends plenty of time with you. She reviews your case asking constant questions. She really wants to get you better. She also gives you plenty of time to ask your own questions. She even gave me her email to communicate directly with her. Dr Liao is also extremely nice.

I was so excited to finally see an endocrinologist for the thyroid disease that runs in my family and is starting to seriously affect me. Unfortunately I guess I came to the wrong doctor. Dr. Liao was dismissive, claimed my test results were "completely normal" although her own friend, a fellow physician, claims they were not. She ignored my severe familial history of hypothyroidism, my clear and obvious symptoms, and wrote me off as a person "looking for drugs to lose weight". I'm so offended and heartbroken at how long I waited for such an offensive and devastating appointment, aka waste of time. She is not qualified to be treating people, and her bedside manner is horrific. I would not recommend her to my worst enemy!

I have gone to Dr. Liao for a few years now and liked her from the very beginning. I find her to be prompt, informative, patient and spends sufficient time with you. She explans everything, gives you time to ask questions freely with discussion if necessary. I have never felt rushed. She has been excellent with doctor-patient communication via email as well which I have not found with any other doctor I have at BIMC.

She does not listen she is only concerned about getting you out of the office fast so she can move on to her next patient.She is also very rude and critical by saying you eat too much or you don't exercise enough. No compassion and does not follow up if you have a problem.

Dr Liao is very attentive and I felt very comfortable during the appointment. She is great at follow up; e-mailing me the results as well as offering to fax/mail me a hard copy of the results which I totally appreciated. Her follow up was extremely prompt. I would highly recommend Dr Liao.

Was a patient of Dr Liao's for gestational diabetes. She was very caring and knowledgeable, and her staff are very professional and courteous.
