Dr. Emiliana Raymundo Cruz-Hillis, MD

Went to this doctor only twice. The first time I went to her she was very short with me and did not want me to interject to explain my medical issues. She told me very sternly more than once to not interrupt her when I was trying to simply explain how my medical conditions related to what she was saying. My father passed away approximately 4.5 months ago and my endocrinologist put me on Xanax as I was having difficulty sleeping during my Fathers home hospice care previous to his death. Myself, my 86-year-old mother and my brother all took turns care of my father prior to his passing. Dr. Cruz-Hillis MD was to take over all my prescriptions from my endocrinologist as well as my previous doctor that closed his practice. In error, I had grabbed an empty bottle of Xanax dad had been previously filled by my endocrinologist, and called that bottle of Xanax in to be refilled. I have a very bad memory as well as being disabled. The manager at Cruz Jalisco called me and asked me if I… knew that I had two doctors filling my Xanax. I said no I wasn’t aware I had done that and it was not intentional. The manager at Dr. Cruz-Hillis explained to me that since the Xanax was already being filled by my endocrinologist they would not be able to fill it. I completely understood and said that was fine and that it was just a mistake on my part. I. Was given no indication that there was going to be any problem over this as the manager said nothing to this affect. I thought the matter was then dropped as nothing else was said. When I came in to my Prescheduled appointment today with Dr. Cruz-Hillis MD, she called the manager in the room and they told me that they will no longer except me as a patient because I tried to get Xanax filled by two different doctors. She knows I have a memory issue plus I explained in detail that it was not intentional. This was only .5 of Xanax that I take once a night to help me relax so that I can sleep and that’s it. I take no pain pills or any controled substances of any kind and have never had an issue with any controlled substance past or present. I still can’t believe that this doctor was so uncaring! I’m still dealing with my father‘s death, I have a back issue that gives me constant pain and I have to have eye surgery next month, in addition to several other health issues. Dr. Cruz-Hillis MD is aware of all of these issues but did not take any of them into consideration and said that I could’ve gotten her in trouble by having the Xanax filled by to different doctors. Also, it was the same pharmacy and not two different pharmacies, which means that they would never have filled the Xanax twice anyway. I’m going to pursue this because it’s not fair that patients are treated with such non-caring attitude and disrespect. I know there is an epidemic in this nation of people abusing controlled substances but I am not one of them & it was ridiculous for Dr. Cruz-Hillis MD two release me as a patient under these circumstances. I already have a new doctor and the nurse said that there would be no problem with filling my .5 Xanax as well as my other many prescriptions that I am Prescribed due to my medical disabilities. If you want to be treated with respect in fairness I highly recommend that you choose another position and not Dr. Cruz-Hillis MD.

Dr. Cruz-Hillis has been my and my wife's primary care doctor for about 5 or 6 years at least. She is extremely caring, competent, knowledgeable on such a wide variety of health matters. I have been able to get an appointment for an urgent matter often the same day. She is sensitive to health concerns and cares enough to recall even small details of past appointments and problems. She clearly gives you a total sense of security. She is calm yet very concerned about your well being. You could not ask for a nicer person or medical professional.

Dr. Emiliana is awesome, she's the best physician I believe I've ever had. She's polite, always greets w/a handshake. Very thorough, ask questions, has patience galore and takes an interest in what I speak about. She offers great advise and is a genuine person. I highly recommend her to any woman who seeks a primary care physician.

I drove an hr. needing something for extreme shoulder pain, only to arrive and no one on staff can write pain prescription. Up 2 nights no sleep, excrutiating pain with tendonitis and all they could say was Sorry. I was crying and driving an hour home only to be rushed to emergency room 3 hrs. later because they could not help me. Emergency room cost me $4,000. Dr. Hillis sent my $150. invoice straight to collection service when I wrote a letter asking for waiver of this invoice since I felt they could have written a prescription or given me a shot of cortizone to aleviate the pain. No one cared and I had to pay a collection bureau instead of getting an answer back on my letter. I would have paid them directly if they would have just answered my letter. They avoid you and run you thru their office like cattle with numbers. They could care less how you feel.

I am as impressed with Dr. Cruz-Hillis as I was when I had my first appointment with her. I tend to be quite critical of doctors, and I am not a calm patient. Dr. Cruz-Hillis, however, changed all that right from the beginning, because of her pleasant and conscientious approach. She listens and is attentive to every detail. She also responds and explains everything comprehensively, but in understandable lay terms. Dr.Cruz-Hillis is persistent about getting to the bottom of any problem and will leave no stone unturned until she has a win!It feel very lucky and grateful to have her as my family doctor.

It is always scary when you have to find a new doctor after years with one you have built up trust. Dr Cruz Hillis was a pleasant surprise. my whole family now goes to her and we are thrilled with the level of care and professionalism

It is rare to find a physician who is caring, respectful of her patient's intelligence, and is personally encouraging.
