Emilio A Arispe JR., MD

My kiddos have been seeing Arispe since they were born. I have a 6yr old & an almost 3yr old. Our visits & care started out well & we really enjoyed seeing him when we needed to. However within the past year or so we noticed his care has declined. There would be occasions we would come in & he would ask questions about my children's health that he should know or should of reviewed before entering the room, especially because their care was managed by him. I was beginning to think that his patient workload was becoming too much because our visits were becoming shorter & less thorough & he also seemed less knowledgeable about my kids & their medical history. Fast forward, my son had developed a granuloma annulare on his ankle, 6 months after that one developed we noticed another bump on his other ankle but it didn't present itself as another granuloma annulare. My son also stated it hurt him & it looked like it was growing in size. We had an appointment with a NP because Arispe was out… of town, they ordered an ultrasound which came back inconclusive so after that my son had an MRI. We received a call the next day from Dr. Arispe, he stated over the phone that based off of the MRI that my son had done... that he has cancer & we would be set up to see hematology/oncology later in the afternoon. We were set up with an appointment with a general surgeon, nobody in hem/onc. The general surgeon we met with was very confused as to why Dr. Arsipe would have told us my son has cancer based off of an MRI result without having a biopsy done. Also not to mention, the MRI results showed 4 other possibilities as to what the bump could of been. Yes cancer was listed but so were 4 other things, one of which being another granuloma annulare. Dr. Arispe put my family through so much emotional turmoil & heartache in such a short amount of time, without any definite answers. I also work in the medical field & would have never told a family that their kid has cancer without a biopsy being done & then fail to mention any of the other findings on the scan. We have since found another pediatrician for our kids because of this negligence in attention to detail & care. He may have been great when he first started as a pediatrician, but he is too busy now & has too big of a caseload to pay attention to the little details as well as the commonsense part of healthcare. We love our new pediatrician and will NOT be returning to Dr. Arispe. If I could have left a zero star... I would have.

Dr. Arispe has taken care of both of my kids for 19 years. Back when I was first searching for a Pediatrician, it was suggested to me to visit several Doctors to find the best fit for my baby. Dr. Arispe made the best impression! I was first given some fantastic literature about him, and everything a first time mom could ever know what to expect. He sat down with me, talked and listened. I knew he was the one to choose. Throughout the years both of my kids had the best care possible. We had some scary things happen . He was able to diagnose them right away and get us the best solutions available. The nurses who have worked with him over the years provided the most comforting suggestions and put me at ease many times. Nurses Carolyn and Linda will always be a part of hearts. Overall, there are not enough kind words to describe how wonderful Dr. Arispe is. His care over the years has been amazing. He is a true blessing.

Dr. Arispe visited my infant during his routine in the hospital. She needed a little more care after we left the hospital, but we left the day before Thanksgiving and most clinics were closed Friday, which was the day Dr. Arispe wanted blood drawn. He arranged for us to come back to the hospital Friday for the blood work. He monitored her results through that weekend. I jumped at the opportunity to assign him as our pediatrician because of his obvious ability and care for my baby, whom he took the time to hold and say some words to. We are already so happy with him!

Dr. Arispie always goes above and beyond his call of duty. He does not rush you in and out. He keeps up on the latest medical news and information. He understands that we are parents and worry. I was very impressed to know that when my son was taken to the hospital one night, Lakeside, that he stayed up and kept in constant contact with the ER doctors making sure the right tests and everything was done right. He has a computer in his room at home that clicks on bright if a patient of his is admitted to a hospital. I would give him a 150%!

Really liked dr. arispe and his staff.

Dr Arispe has been our children's doctor for over 8 years. I am extremely impressed with his knowledge and bedside manner. I only wish I could have him as my own GP. He explains things clearly and takes time to listen! This is HUGE for me and many others. NO ONE takes time anymore. Many times it's those "by the way" questions that become the bigger issue. I have three children and have 100% confidence in his abilities as a doctor. If anyone should receive some kind of recognition it should be Dr. Arispe!

Dr. Arispe was the only doctor that accurately diagnosed my son who had a fatal disease. We went through many emergency room doctors and we finally made the appt and saw Dr. A who told us we needed to go immediately to Childrens Hospital and get directly admitted. Dr. A was not our hospital doctor, but made sure we knew he was worried and came to see us at the hospital. Thank you for all you do!

Dr. Arispe was great in adopting his behavior to our family's needs. He was very thorough in explaining everything and giving detailed information about all medication and procedures that were done to my son who had a lot of medical problems his first year of life. He was also very flexible with our choice of immunization schedule and although always respectful of our decision straight forward about his suggestions. Loved the fact that he was straight forward, detailed and sincere in his communication with us.Unfortunately we have left the state and finding a replacement for him has been hard. I highly recommend him as a pediatrician.

Dr. Arispe has been the pediatrition for my two girls since birth. While he is in and out like a blurr I don't ever feel like he's rushing me off. If I do have questions he answers them for me and takes the time to explain what I need to know. The best thing about Dr. Arispe is that my children love him and like going to the see him...eventhough they sometimes get shots! Having them happy and comfortable is the most important part of our visits. Dr. Arispe always talks to the girls not about them.
