Dr. Emily Margaret Hawes, MD

There is little I abhor more than gynecological visits. Dr. Hawes is extremely patient and kind, while maintaining a professionalism that makes visits more than tolerable. I'm in the process of planning a surgery with Dr. Hawes and while I am NOT looking forward to surgery, I feel fully confident in proceeding with her.

She did not identify internal bleeding I had post C-section. Needed to be surgically reopened and have tissue removed. Wound would then not heal. Referred to wound clinic for management. Horrible experience.

Dr. Hawes-VanPelt was on call the morning of start of her shift when she recommended I needed to be induced. I happened to be the only laboring mother to be in the L&D floor and she didn’t bother to check in on me until 15 hours later from start on induction when nurses called on her when complications were starting. She let the next on call Dr take over even though baby was on her way. Felt and experienced a lack of commitment from Dr Hawes VanPelt. She did her job and that was it, needed more support from her and she did not offer.

Very knowledgeable and kind. She answered all of my questions thoroughly. I hate going to the dr but she was quick and painless with the exam.

I went through a lot of dr.s and when I got dr. Haws i loved her the best and I will follow her were ever she goes
