Emma Fritz, MD

Dr. Fritz is an excellent doctor. Upon moving to Orlando more than a decade ago, I am so glad that my new friends and co-workers recommended her. She's always had a great bedside manner, expressed care and concern for me as a person, not just a patient, and took the time to work through issues with me. By far one of the best doctors I've had in Orlando!

I switched to Dr. Emma Fritz when I found out my husband and I were expecting. Unfortunately when we went in for our 8-week ultrasound, we learned we were having a silent miscarriage. Dr. Fritz and her team were kind and courteous at a time when our hearts were breaking. Dr. Fritz explained our options and walked us through every step. She went above and beyond, following up with me regularly after my D&C to help us on our journey to conceive again. I can't express my appreciation and gratitude enough for Dr. Fritz's professionalism and empathy during a difficult time.

Dr. Fritz has great bedside manner. The most I admire about her is how compassionate she is & how she takes all the time needed to listen to her patients & their concerns. I wish I could give more stars!!

I switched to Dr. Fritz last year when I was pregnant because my long time OBGYN was not in network with my new insurance plan. Everything went well during the pregnancy, though she was gone for at least two months during that time in which I saw Dr. Merritt (which by the way, LOVE her, I can’t say enough good things about her!) Six months after my baby was born I called to get a script called in for me to get an ultrasound and mammogram. I’m 46 years old and did not receive one last year because of pregnancy and in that time my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer so I definitely want to remain vigilant about getting one annually. When I called and requested the order from the nurse she called me back and said I needed to come in for a breast exam or they wouldn’t call in the order. I called and left a message thinking, “I just need to explain to them that I have to pay $200 to come in for a visit and since I just had a pap a short time ago I’d wait a few more months and get the… breast exam with my annual.” The nurse called back and said if I did not come in for a 5 minute visit just to have a breast exam done they would not call in the order. So unless I pay $200 they would deny me a necessary cancer screening test? I explained again that I would have to pay $500 for both the mammogram and ultrasound and did not feel the need to pay $200 right now for an office visit when I had just been there 5 months before and would be back in a few months. I thought for sure they would understand. Nope, they told me no. Which by the way, why did no one do a breast exam the countless times I was there the past year up until 5 months before? I told the nurse I thought that was negligent of the doctor to deny me a test that is medically necessary just because I would not come in and pay $200. I’m sorry, I’m sure breast cancer has been diagnosed by touch but if it’s that big you can feel it, I’m pretty confident two highly advanced pieces of technology could pick it up and was willing to take that chance. I was not trying to be difficult, I just couldn’t understand or believe they would deny me this. All they had to do was state in my records that they recommended a breast exam and I said I’d wait. They would be covered. I promptly called my old OBGYN who is now back in my plan and asked if he would call it in. He did it in a second, no breast exam required. The next day Dr. Fritz personally called me to tell me she didn’t appreciate being called negligent and I again thought if I explained everything she would understand. Nope. I had questioned and damaged her ego by disagreeing with her and stating my opinion. I informed her I had switched back to my old doctor and he had ordered the tests. The next day I received a certified letter dismissing me from Women’s Care. It was such an unprofessional and vindictive move, like you’re not breaking up without me, I am breaking up with you. The end result is that I am now banned from not only their practice but all of Women’s Care practices, which are everywhere. I question any doctor who denies you the right to care, especially when it interferes with their income.

Dr. Fritz connects with her patients. She listens, and as much as possible works within patient preferences for treatment possibilities. She's warm, caring and personable. I highly recommend her!!

I have seen Dr. Fritz since 2013 and absolutely love her! She has always been patient, kind and understanding. She oversaw my care during my first pregnancy and I will continue to see her for future care/pregnancies. She will listen to any of your concerns and address any of your needs.

I have been seeing Dr. Fritz for close to 10 years and I've recently come to the conclusion that I need to find a new gynecologist. I only see her for annual exams and have never been pregnant, nor plan to ever be. I chose her on a whim, thanks to proximity to my job and have followed her to each new office location ever since. I stuck with her because at first she seemed like she genuinely cared about me as a patient and even made sure to suggest early mammograms and low dose birth control because of my family history. As time went on, though, I'm not sure if it's due to her busy schedule after moving to the location downtown, or because I only see her once a year, but I started to feel like just a number. It would always be close to an hour over my appointment time until she would finally walk into the exam room. She would spend less than 5 minutes actually speaking to me before performing the exam. Then she'd ask if I had any questions, clearly in a rush, and then shake my hand… and be on her way. But since I would only come in for an annual exam and never had any serious problems, I just let it slide. I only see her once a year anyway. My appointment this year was the deal-breaker. After the usual extended wait in the exam room, she came in for the exam and everything went like it always did. But then she mentioned mammograms and I reminded her that she started me on them early, to which she asked, "Is there a reason why I did that? You don't have family history, do you?" To which I calmly reminded her that I have breast cancer on both sides of my family, and my mother died from it. Being another face in Dr. Fritz's revolving door of patients isn't a big deal to me. I don't need to have a close, personal relationship with any doctor, unless I have something serious going on. But it would be nice to know that she at least checks a patient's chart before entering the room to familiarize herself with their medical history.

I went to see Dr. Fritz for my annual Pap visit. I had to wait almost 30 minutes after my appointment time to be seen. Once she finally came in the room she was friendly enough but her demeanor changed towards me instantly when she found out I didn't have insurance. She was snooty and superior with me. Although, having read other reviews, this could just be her nature and have little to do with my insurance status. The exam was the shortest I have ever had, it felt completely rushed. Luckily I didn't have any concerns at the time because I doubt the Dr. would have paid any attention to them. I visited Dr. Fritz a year ago and have since moved out of the area, I was able to get my next yearly visit with a doctor in my area but my birth control prescription had run out. I called Dr. Fritz' office to explain the situation and ask if she could write a prescription for only one month so I would not go without (which other doctors have done before without issues) but I was denied because I… would not be making another appointment with her! As if taking two seconds out of her day to sign a prescription was going to cost her anything at all. It's not as if I had never been seen by her! I find this absolutely ridiculous and very rude and inconsiderate! I will never recommend a doctor like her to anyone!!
