Dr. Emmanuel Arun Venkatesan, MD

Rude, patronizing, did not listen, and completely ignored information that I gave him about past and possibly underlying medical problem. His written analysis in my chart made no mention of the information I told him. He’s useless and more importantly, dangerous. Wish a 0 star rating was possible. Avoid him like the plague.

I was very disappointed my health care appointment. First, I tried to reschedule my appointment to a different time two weeks out because of another commitment. They said they would let me know if something opened up but never did. I called back a couple of times during those two weeks and they acted like they were completely unaware of my issue. However, my largest concern is my PCP, Dr. Venkatesan. I had a couple of questions of why he wanted to order blood work or run a specific test as well as the costs associated with that. He said "I do not get in between you and your medical insurance. I can't help you with that," (in regards to the cost). Additionally in regards to cost, he was like well I'm going to order it if I think its necessary without giving just reason of why. He did not give clear explanation of what he wanted to look into and why. As I was trying to ask more questions since he wasn't giving me an answer or directing me to someone who could, he cut me off mid-sentence… and was like, "You will wait for bloodwork here. I have to go see another patient and can't answer any more of your questions." It was the rudest interaction I have ever had with a healthcare provider before and something I would hope every patient should know before considering to schedule with an appointment with him. I will NOT be going back to him and I would not recommend him to anyone else.

I wrote him a detailed list of questions (about 3 pages long) and his response answered zero of my questions (and this was for an urgent, important matter). I would not recommend.

I don’t like him. Lowest of the low.

I have been a patient of Dr.V for more than 10 years. He always listened to my concerns, engaged with me in discussing how I felt, treatment options, and was accepting of my choice. Spring of 2015, abruptly he changed. He no longer listens to you, even when you are answering his questions, to the point of rudeness. Exams are cursory; preferring to order expensive, and unnecessary lab work. He decides for you how much pain/illness you have. The mutually beneficial doctor-patient relationship is gone. (4.5 stars to 1.5 stars).

He will not take the time to listen or explain anything. The facility requires the doctor to enter all prescription info during the visit so he was distracted on the computer and didn't listen to any concerns or questions. Was told to go to specialists for all of the issues I presented. In addition, he got ALL of my prescriptions wrong which required multiple calls to the facility to get corrected. DO NOT GO HERE

Patient for almost 10 years.

This doctor does not communicate well, does not help you understand your health problem or diagnosis. Posts prescriptions to the health portal without telling you a diagnosis or providing any information about the reason for the prescription. Does not provide patient education. The quality of care is poor.

Perhaps a bad day for him but when ill elderly patients come to the doctor they require explanation and patience.

The doctor is only an "ok" doctor. He didn't provide the interpretation that he said he would write on the lab results. Most importantly, he rushed through the physical exam and missed a diagnosis, because he didn't do a proper physical. I know what a proper physical looks like, because I am a medical student, and the diagnosis was actually caught when we were practicing physicals on each other. The office staff was seriously disorganized. They sent my private health information to one of my neighbors, 4 times, because they had my address wrong.
