If you have RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS, do NOT go to Dr. Ko. I have RA and was seeing Dr. Ko for pain after an injury. At one appointment, she made a comment to me about how she tells her staff to try not to schedule more than one RA patient a day because we are difficult. At a second appointment, I overheard her talking with her office staff about how scheduling two RA patients back-to-back would be horrible. The tone and implication was that she didn't like dealing with patients with RA. (If RA patients are too challenging, don't accept us as patients and waste our time and money!) I also felt extremely rushed and like she was trying to get rid of me. And, while I had an MRI that clearly showed damage and major problems, she told me she couldn't help me and I needed to go to pain management counseling. I couldn't even bend my wrist from the damage, and she just wanted to send me to pain management counseling!! So, if you have RA and need a wrist specialist, go somewhere else. I… have since been seeing a different hand specialist in the area who has been wonderful and has greatly improved my wrist functioning and lowered my pain levels.
