Dr. Emory Eugene Foote

Dr. Foote is by far the most committed and gentle dentist I’ve ever known. I think he’s an angel from heaven!

I have been with this dentist for several years. He is pleasant and yes he is a one man show. This is fine with me because he still gets the job done. He has serviced simple cleanings to root canals for me and I experienced no pain during or after the procedures. I am disappointed in the bad reviews because the patients are anxious. Numbing medicine does not work effectively when a patient is uneasy. If you already have prejudged the visit you will not be satisfied. If your used to high tech overstaffed offices this is not the place for you. It is a simple office with one highly competent man that gets the job done which helps keep costs low and I thank him.

I went to Dr. Emory Foote for a first time root canal because he was the only local person covered by my insurance. My first call to his office made me feel insecure from the start due to a very young sounding girl who was not very experienced or professional in speaking with me. Slightly rude. Turns out it's his daughter who looks to be about 14 years old. He has NO dental assistant helping him in his procedures! Not even the root canal he did on me!! I was up on a top floor in a high rise building in Cleveland Heights, Ohio and was alone and fearful the 1st visit there, because it was only him (the dentist who's a male) and myself a female!! I was very uneasy in this situation. It happened the 2nd visit also so this is his normal way of practice. Plus my dentist from Geauga County, OH knows his young teen/pre-teen daughter answers the phone occasionally. He wouldn't put a topical numbing agent on when I requested it like my regular dentist does. He said "it doesn't do much." No water… was poured over my tooth to keep it cool as it's a known fact that this is part of a root canal procedure. From what dentists have told me at least and my family has experienced! It smelled like burning rubber and I almost vomited. It took him 2 hours the 1st visit to remove 1.5 nerves. I was told he couldn't complete it that day. He couldn't find the other canals/nerves even after multiple x-rays in another room were taken! He had another patient waiting also. The upcoming week which was our vacation (that was ruined due to his lack of professionalism and completion of the root canal) I had to schedule a 2nd appointment! My husband came with me the following week after our vacation was cut short. I was in tears because the novacaine wasn't working for some reason. It took 5 shots the 1st time! The 2nd visit after only 2 shots, Dr. Emory Foote got frustrated and stated to me, "We may not be able to finish this!" While he was drilling through the entire temp tooth because he couldn't remove it (which my regular dentist did in less than 5 minutes with complete ease and no pain at a later date to cap it) I felt severe sharp pain causing me to jump unintentionally of course, and the drill cut the inside of my lower right lip. I have photos. 3 months later, I still have a bump and a scar!! When I left later the first visit that evening, I started having extremely sharp pains shooting from the tooth he worked on that he couldn't complete that day. Following that within minutes were "electrifying like shocks" coming from the tooth repetitively causing me to jump and I was in tears!! I called him, and he did return my call and called in an antibiotic (although at no point in time had there been an infection) and mild pain medication was written out which barely helped because the "problem gone wrong" was so severe!! The second dreaded trip back into his office, was VERY painful and having anxiety, already using Xanax I had never been more uncomfortable in a medical or dental procedure in my 45+ years! Dr. E. Foote then said "There are no nerves left down there, I don't know why you're jumping saying there's pain!!!" He was waiving his hands up into the air in frustration as if I was not being truthful or something. He became angry! My husband witnessed this behavior. Now I can't have the cap placed on because I still have pain when pressing on the temp tooth my dentist filled the space with. I have to either go back to this uncaring, unprofessional dentist who didn't care about my pain and fear, or now pay over $1,500.00 out of pocket for another dentist or endodontist to see why I still am in pain. I need this cap put on asap. Over $1,000 to have it made and it's sitting at my dentist's office still. I want to have sedation at the next place, but it's pricey and difficult to find in the Lake/Geauga County area. The atmosphere at his office with (especially with no employees) is very outdated too! Equipment I'm guessing too, based off of a few things I picked up on, plus comments my regular dentist made after questioning a few things. The patient before me was crying too. I had tears running down my face for 2.5 hours the 2nd visit and he only kept getting more angry. My husband witnessed the patient crying (an older woman) on my second appointment. He was shocked at the doctors lack of care, concern and empathy as a supposed "professional." I would never recommend this man, or ever go back there again. There's even more to this story, but too much depth to type out.

One of the best dentist in the state of Ohio. He is caring, concerned and very gentle.

I am 71 years young and I only let Dr, . Foote take care of my teeth.. i come to him for 30 years....

Worst dentist I have ever seen. Unprofessional. In office when another disgruntled patient came in and left. Reported him to my insurance company.
