Dr. Enrique Zarate, MD

We found Dr. Zarate on our list of doctors with Anthem. His new ofc was close and convenient. We were concerned that it took over a month to get in. Unfortunately we found on our visit to ER prior that something was wrong and the diagnosis was serious. It involved multiple visits to other physicians hospital visits scans etc. We are so pleased that Dr. Zarate stayed on top of all the visits and tests and followed up to ensure us of what might be ahead. We are preparing for a journey ahead and are glad to have a family doctor who cares. We are hoping to recommend a new patient.

Very unprofessional! When I made my appointment I had addressed that I was in pain so they made my appointment 2 days after and then the day of my appointment they called me about 2 hours before my appointment to cancel because the Doc was at a "conference" So I called back and they rescheduled my appointment 2 days after. And this time they called me about an hour before my appointment with the same reason that the doctor was not going to make it because he was at a conference. I had already requested those times off from work and not lost 2 hours of work because they told me to late! When I called back and asked why this keeps happening the lady was just rude to me and said well just go to a different doctor.

Weird experience

Worst experience ever. The office staff was rude. The Dr was not willing to help new patience who have an urgent situation. We switched Drs and are very happy now.

To Whom It may concern. Fr. Zarate seen me in the E.R. at Sutter Tracy Hospital in 2002. I was in for chest pains that were diagnosed by Dr. Zarate as anxiety. I also started having back pain and refused to stop working. He has gone above and beyond to help me out with my medications but TO A CERTAIN limit. He is NOT anti drug however he will NOT prescribe scheduale II pain medications. That is not his field even though he is an Emergency Room Dr. and has a great deal of knowledge you can not go to his ofc. and ask for heavy pain killers. He will have to refer you and if you have no medical ins. then your on your own. He will do all he is allowed to do for you and I do wholeheartedly recomend him as a primary practicioner. He has a great bedside manner, will treat you with respect and it's not in his nature to turn you out on drugs. I no longer see Dr. Zarate ONLY due to the fact I am uninsured. I will go back to him if I ever get health ins. again.
