I had a rare spinal fluid leak on the anterior wall of my T8 next to my spinal cord. The doctors at Vanderbilt told me there was nothing wrong with me. He found the source of my leak and was willing to do the surgery even though he had never done it before.

I could walk but had sciatica and after a test including an injection in my joint, told me with great assurance that he could fix it. He fixed me alright! I've been wheelchair bound and can't take a step. Went back several times to be told I needed more time. Last month we went to my year checkup and he was standing in his door surrounded with boxes. All he said was he was leaving! I've had pain injections and now a Small Nerve Stimulator implanted. I still can't walk or do anything because of such pain. I don't know where he moved to; nobody's talking. I think it's a shame he got paid for ruining my life!

He will not give up until he sees that you are better from your ailments or injuries! I was one of the few patients that he had the liberty to perform a psoriatic joint fusion on. The operation changed my life for the better. I highly recommend him for your Neurological needs. A physician that I highly respect.

Excellent care for my elderly mother. Used patient symptoms and examination and not just xray and lab results. Would definitely recommend him to others.

He told me that my condition would require one surgery and I'd be healed for life. WRONG! Four surgeries later I'm needing a fifth surgery to REPAIR what he did wrong! He even admitted to doing it wrong and said he should have done this and that in the first surgery. So now I've been turned down for surgery by two major hospitals because they refuse to go in my back after Akin left it in such a mess. I'm 28 and having to deal with this for life now. I'm left with no control over my bladder and borderline paralyzed in my legs. Please don't waste your time with this man.

Claims after I have had many other diagnoses with many doctors stating issues L-4 and L-5 , Spinal Stenosis plus three disks that came out and went part way back in that I have a perfect spine and he wishes he had my spine. I have to question how he is in practice. I suffer in pain. Fine if he cannot treat, but I do have issues that have been clearly diagnosed. God will find me help just not with him.
