Dr. Gregory Frank Ricca

I have been so blessed and thankful to have had a back injury repaired by a surgeon of Dr. Ricca's experience. He really cares about his patients well being from first meeting to surgery and thru the recuperation period. I learned so much from him about my body and what to expect. Dr. Ricca is amazing and I'm so thankful for his wonderful healing hands. Dr. Ricca also has an amazing "team" that really helps throughout. DR. RICCA IS THE BEST NEROSURGERY THAT i HAVE WENT TO. HE HAS DONE NECK SURGERY AND 4 BACK SURGERY ON ME. HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER. i WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM. Dr. Ricca spend more time with me than any Dr. I have ever been with. He really a caring DR. He show me on my mri what he was going to do to help me get out of pain and that is what he did! surgery with so smooth and within 4 weeks no pain. I would recommend Dr. Ricca to anyone.

He is the best

Dr. Ricca has to be the most thorough, compassionate, dedicated neurosurgeon in the country who not only has a very keen mind when studying the condition, he also has God-given gifted hands! I had total confidence in him without one minute's worry about going under HIS knife for 6-1/2 hours. His explanation to my caregivers, following surgery, was superb and detailed. Would recommend him highly to anyone, without reservation.

Dr. Ricca is one awesome surgeon. His bedside manner is the best I've ever seen in a Dr., and for a surgeon, even more unheard of! My experience with him from start to finish was excellent care. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs back surgery .

I had forgotten what it was like to be without severe back pain. I suffered an injury in 1997 herniating 2 discs. I was scared to death to allow anyone to do surgery after hearing so many horror stories. So I lived with the pain doing only what the pain would allow me to do. As the years rolled by it would put me down once to twice a year for a week of bedrest and meds. I did everything every doctor I seen suggested such as physical therapy, chiropractors, shots, ting units,etc. then this year I went down 5 times and when it would go out I could be doing literally nothing like closing the dishwasher door. Well my wife works at the hospital and was telling me about this neurosurgeon that she had heard transferred into the WCMC in Searcy. Then her best friend who is a 30 year emergency nurse was raving about what Doctor Ricca had just done for her husband and how wonderful he was and it was the first time she had not heard him complain about his back in years. So I started doing some… research and found out he was the one that had fixed an elderly friend of mine who had enough money that he could have flown to any doctor in the world and he choose Dr. Ricca and totally raved about him. So now we are to a place were something has to give and I have found the right neurosurgeon. So I made my appointment with him and it took a while to initially get in and there is a reason for that; I wasn't the only one that knew about Dr. Ricca. Now as you noticed I said it took 45 minutes to get back to see him once I was there but yet I gave him 4 stars for promptness. This is because he spends as much time as is needed to explain and make sure all of his patients know everything about their condition as possible but you can guarantee he will do the same for you. I was so impressed how he wouldn't do surgery untill all other means of treatment how been exhausted. And how he made sure of what was wrong with me; he first sent me for an MRI then for a lumbar discography to identify the exact location of the problem area. On our next appointment he explained what he was going to do if I proceeded on - which I did. His surgery staff as well as his office staff are great. I mean this wasn't my first surgery but it was the first time I had a heated bed with warm sheets and numbing meds so the IV didn't hurt. My surgery was longer than expected because there was 3 ruptured discs not 1 like the MRI showed. He also fixed 2 other discs with cages, screws etc. and cut away the bone that was compressing the root nerves - so it was very extensive. I was walking the very first night and have already started forgetting at times that I have ever had a bad back and its only been 10 weeks. i have lifting limitations while I totally heal but I have no back pain and an expecting a full recovery. So I can tell you that Dr. Ricca has gave me back my life. And I can tell you if you have severe back pain that chances are he can do the same for you.

I too can not say enough good things about Dr. Ricca, at 48 I have had 12 surgeries, 5 on my lower back alone and Dr. Ricca is the best Dr. I have ever seen. His bedside manner and the time he is willing to spend with each patient if far better than any. He takes as much time as needed to find the problems, explain them to you and offer you options, rather than telling you nothing can be done b/c it's more than he wants to deal with, which I honestly believe I have been told before now. I will never forget him telling me " I work for you, you tell me what to do". That's when I knew I had found a good Dr. He made sure I knew each options along with risks, recovery time, what he would do with each procedure and the intended outcome. I have surgery in less than 2 weeks, and I feel confident that i'm in good hands, and facing a 10 hour surgery, that's a good feeling to have. I could go on and on, but i'll end with a genuine thank you to Dr. Ricca and suggest anyone with back problems… that have given up hope or think you can't be helped, go see Dr. Ricca, I do not think you will find another Dr. that will treat you with more respect and have the eagerness to help you that he will.
