Dr. Eric Lee Bauer, MD

Phenomenal doctor. I saw him for an urgent issue before reading any reviews, negative or positive. This is my experience--he doesn't mince words or waste time. After my diagnosis which needed surgery just days before Christmas, he was able to make room and time for me at Miami Valley Hospital, and when the results of the biopsy came indicating I need further intervention, he personally tracked me down (at my hairdresser's!) to set up another operation. This morning, he called me to tell me the good news--my second surgery was a success. How many doctors make the call themselves? Generally my experience has been with nurses and secretaries. Certainly, there are physicians who are caring enough to telephone the patients, but they are rare. I value Dr. Bauer's the exceptional care and expertise.

Dr. Bauer actually listened to me. I couldn't smell for 12 years. Multiple doctors and another ENT told me it was allergies. Dr. Bauer listened and investigated. Found that I had significant polyps with 95% of my sinus cavity being occupied with inflamed tissue. He corrected my septum without the use of splints as he promised he would try to do, removed all the polyps, and now I can breath through my nose and smell for the first time in over a decade. Dr.Bauer doesn't beat around the bush, he gets straight to the facts, figures out what is going on and helps you. He changed my life and really helped me when nobody else would.

This doctor was aloof and didn't seem to want to be there. Totally disinterested in listening or doing anything to help me. I spoke with someone else who had an appointment with him a few months ago and they said it was a total waste of time. It was for me as well. I have an appointment with another ENT next week.

This was a horrible experience for my 19 year old son. He is a student at Miami U in Oxford. Who knew it'd be so hard to find an ENT for him to see! He had been sick for over 2 months, diagnosed by CVS Quickcare and our family physician when he came home. Double ear infection, sinus infection, etc. He started to lose his hearing in one ear. Our family Dr said get him into an ENT asap! I called SOENT and got an appt scheduled with Dr Bauer for a week later. My son was given a hearing test that came back normal. Then Dr Bauer spent a total of less than 5 minutes in the room with him, did not listen to ANYTHING he said, and prescribed the 3rd round of antibiotics for him, and that was it!! I called the office to speak with the Dr and was told I would get a call back the next day. Now a week later, NOTHING!!! My son has now gone to the hospital and is doing better, but this was UNACCEPTABLE!!! I would NEVER recommend this practice and especially NOT DR BAUER!!!!!!!
