Wait for surgery to save my legs until after my vacation. Then when he returned he said he wasnt doing that type of surgery and his partner Dr. Compton needed to do that. Sheesh. The office staff can be very poor.

Dr. Eric Berens saved my husband's legs. My husband had discolored toes and we were bounced from specialist to specialist which required visit, test, visit, and referrals for nearly two months. Dr. Berens ordered an immediate test and the radiology folks went for days offering nothing but excuses for the delays. Dr. Berens' staff phoned at 6:18 p.m. on a Monday and told us to go directly to the hospital to be admitted - no more fooling around. Tests were run throughout the night. He chose St. Joseph's because he could get an operating room for a longer period so he could take his time for all things to be considered. After the all night tests, he performed surgery the next day, then consulted with us. He performed a second surgery the next day. Dr. Berens is analytical, thorough, smart, careful, energetic, and deeply compassionate. He understands time sensitivity and makes certain things move as they should.

Dr Berens is an excellent physician who is thorough and takes time to answer all questions. His nursing staff is very proficient and courteous. After visiting with him I went to his surgery scheduler to schedule my procedure. I waited about 6 months and received no call. I returned and spoke with her again. As of now I have waited over one year and she still has not called.

Dr berens is most remarkable surgeon .I owe him my life..I came to him with an infected a rota graft.n bleeding to death..I was 58 yrs old had a family ...n wasn't expected to live ....dr berens sent sent out to another a rota as I lay in a medical indused coma.but came bk too small.so he went in n repaired my graft.n what a job he did.I survived this horrible ordeal.thanks to this wonderfull man n surgeon....he has hands blesses by the lord.n such a kind man...I n my famil can never thank him enough ever..

I have required the services of several highly skilled vascular surgeons in the past. After spending 11 total hours (three procedures over a six weeks span) I would place Dr. Berens at the top of the list for his technical skill and comprehensive knowledge. Add to that the personal interest he demonstrated in my case and I can only conclude he is an outstanding vascular surgeon. I would, without hesitation recommend him to my family members and friends.

I had Dr. Berens for severe back pain approximately 3 years ago. Steriod injections into my spine area. Dr. said it may last a year for pain relief, but so far, it's been 3 years. Excellent doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr. Berens for a number of years and I can't say enough good about him. His staff could not be nicer and they reflect all that is good about him.

Have been seeing Dr. Berens for many years and have always found him to be an excellent surgeon with a very busy practice. His committment to excellence may sometimes create late appointments and an appearance that the Dr. doesn't have enough time. My experience is that he takes the time when he needs to and has excellent back up and follow up if he is not available. I trust him and have trusted him on many occasions and would not hesitate to have him operate on me if needed. I have been to other doctors due to insurance years ago and was not nearly as satisfied by the overall experience. He is a true professional who is gifted in his specialty and his reputation for saving lives and limbs preceeds him.

Dr. Berens is wounderful surgeon! who did surgery twice on me. I feel great and know pain anymore. I am up to 1/2 mile walking :-) A big thank you! -JRR
