Dr. Eric Mun-Wight Cheung, DO

The Lakewood Office staff is unprofessional on the phone and does not follow through on requests. I had a very disappointing exchange with a woman who told me her name was Alex who was flippant and rude when I called to inquire about a follow up appt for Clinical trials. I was told on a Thursday I would receive a call on Friday and still had not heard back on Tuesday. I called the office to inquire and received nothing but hostility from Alex. She didn't know anything, wouldn't tell me anything and obviously had no time to check on anything. And she refused to provide a phone number so I could do my own follow through. Nasty, rude and unhelpful. As a cancer patient we are already on edge and this type of treatment increases anxiety and promotes fear and distrust with the medical community. Dr.'s Offices need professional front line workers who are empathetic and helpful not irritated and dismissive. We are not ordering cheeseburgers we're trying to get medical help

Dr. Cheung has been my oncologist for the past 7 years. He is kind and caring and I feel very comfortable that my health is in his hands. I know I am getting great care with Dr. Cheung.

After switching health care insurance, my family and I have seen a bad series of doctors with Pioneer Medical Group. My mom's first oncologist left the office without even notifying her and transferring over. But that was a blessing in disguise because we switched to Dr. Eric Cheung, who is God send. I met him once and could tell that he genuinely cares for his patients and has the correct qualities of a doctor. The doctors we had bad experiences with have a lot to learn from him. He is intelligent, patient, and extremely nice. I once called him when I thought my mom was developing an infection, and he called back within a very timely manner on a Saturday, advised me to take her to the ER, and followed up with her by visiting her in the CCU on a Sunday. He definitely goes out of his way to make sure his patients are doing okay, which is very touching and inspiring. In addition, he makes people feel more secure and comfortable. I really appreciate that about him.

Dr. Cheung is a very caring doctor. I felt at ease with him. He always answers all my questions and always takes the time to explain things to me. It's not hard getting an appointment with him either and I appreciate that. Would definitely recommend him.

Dr. Cheung is an amazing doctor. I can't thank him and the staff of the Institute of Hope enough. Thank you for making me feel like a friend or a member of your family rather than just a patient. They took the time to get to know me and helped me to understand everything that I was going through. I definitely would recommend Dr. Cheung to everyone.

Dr. Cheung is a very good doctor and I would highly recommend him. The minute I walked into his office, I was very pleasantly surprised by the professionalism of his staff and the doctor. I did not have to wait for a long time for my appointment and Dr. Cheung is always very nice and caring.
