Dr. Eric Kleinstein, MD

Terrible life changing mistakes. He made a 45 minute thyroid removal into a 2-hour surgery and 9 year problem with pain, then weakness, and nerve damage and tried to blame me! I found out later there is still a piece of the gland left in my neck about the size of a marble. How could I have caused him to do it so badly? He damaged my spine causing me horrible pain and disability. My daughter had to come home from college to feed me and take care of me, I could not. It hurt to lie down, just everything I did hurt. I lost 20 pounds the first month after surgery because I could not prepare food and it hurt to get up to do anything I did not want to drink water so I did not have to stand up to go.

continued I did not sue him because you only have 2 years after the damage and I was unable to use my arms and legs properly and I had enough stress without worrying about getting money from him! Money would not fix my life. I almost lost my job because I could not properly use my body. My boss told me nobody has this kind of pain from getting your thyroid out. I was a science teacher. I spent multiple years in pain because of him. His mood was unpredictable. If I could prove it, I'd say he was impaired in some way when he operated on me. His denials, yelling, and creepy attitude align with some folks with substance abuse. I can't prove that, but I think it is what happened. I hope he is better, I am, but I would never trust him...ever. He was uncaring and ineffective with my body.

As a surgeon Dr. Kleinstein did an excellent job, but - beware!!!!!! Before going to any surgery - PLEASE!!!! - get a second opinion I'm a patient who was in a hospital for a different condition and after a few test I was told by Dr. Kleinstein that I need my gallbladder removed while I was in a hospital. He also offered to fix my "hernia" (thank God I didn't agree to that because I didn't need it!) Well, to make my story short - I didn't have any problems with gallbladder, I was just scared while in a hospital and (stupid me - I didn't get second opinion) now - thanks to his care - I'll have to be on a diet for a rest of my life!!!!! Warning! Not only a lawyers are "ambulance chasers"!!! I'm a senior citizen and maybe my brains are not working as fast as it should. Instead of feeling better - I guess I'll have to "pay for my mistake trusting to Doctor I didn't know!!!! So - if You get in a similar situation - talk to Your loved ones and get a second opinion!

Dr. Kleinstein is an excellent Dr. He spends a good amount of time with you and is very detailed in his explanations and provides plenty of information on the procedure and recovery. Has great bedside manners and is very pleasant to deal with.

Dr Kleinstein spent alot of time with me to be sure I understood my diagnosis. He is very caring.

Excellent, excellent surgeon. For my surgery other health professionals were commenting about how clean and perfect the surgical incision was, something that I could only see after. When other peers comment about your work, you know that it is outstanding. Wonderful bedside manner, caring and explains thoroughly. Would highly recommend him for any surgery that is needed.
