Dr. Eric S Knochenhauer, MD

Dr Knochenhauer is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. 30 years ago I was diagnosed with an auto immune disease. For years I searched for a doctor that would listen to me. Dr Knochenhauer was the only one. He is smart, caring, compassionate and not afraid to try different things. I owe it to him that because he is so intuitive, I was able to live a happy healthy life. I would travel the world for him to treat me. He is excellent!!!!! His nurses are excellent too!!

My wife and I have had issues conceiving for years and have been to countless fertility doctors, but after what seemed like forever (2 months) we finally were able to conceive and I fully attribute our success to Dr. K and his professional staff and expertise! thank you dr k and staff, i am forever in your debt.

dr eric was very caring and compassionate when it came to discussing options with my husband and myself, I always feel like my needs are met when I leave the office.

I would give Dr. Knochenhauer 5 stars, but I am giving him 3 due to a few of his staff members. One in particular, Shannon in his financial dept is horrible! Forget trying to get helpful information about your insurance out of her! After going through many procedures and on so many different hormones, the last thing you need is someone nasty on the other line, if anything everyone working in a fertility clinic should be very sensitive to all of their patients. I got off the phone a few times in tears after an interaction with her. Nurse Katie is also pretty cold, gives the med information or prep very fast, they should follow-up each phone call with an email detailing your med instructions instead of a quick phone call where you are left wondering "Did I get all that correct?" With that said, Dr. K was wonderful. Never once rushed me out of his office, answered every single question me and my husband had. Gave me all my options and was very honest with what he expected my… outcomes to be. I am not sure he knows how his staff is, or maybe he is aware that his financial department is run by a ruthless, insensitive individual. I wish I could give this 5 stars because Dr. K was successful in helping me conceive which was the ultimate goal! He's a wonderful and extremely knowledgeable physician!

This dr lied to my insurance company so I can be approved for ivf, when I denied the approval cause I didn’t trust anyone in that office I was given a very snippy response, I wonder if ghi is aware of the lies and claims

My experience with Dr. knochenhaur was nothing short of amazing. I felt extremely comfortable, he was very thorough and answered all questions I wanted to know. His surgical team at Staten Island university north including, anesthesiologists, residents, and nurses were an absolute pleasure. They were very friendly made me feel safe and really made it easier for me as I was very anxious about surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Knochenhaur. If you’re looking for a smart, confident, and to the point doctor he is your guy!

Will waste time with more bloodwork than needed - duplicate tests. Is always late. Office billing manager discusses your private next procedure in a loud voice for all to hear. Really only a good idea for someone that wants initial testing done by someone local. Lateness for an embryo tansplant inexcusable and guaranteed to happen. Told me he had dental cleaning.

Dr. Knochenhauer and his office operate like a factory. They have zero emotion or compassion regarding your situation. They have countless patients because they don't really care to figure out what's causing your infertility they just want to continue to treat you for as long as possible without finding a solution. They charge you for unnecessary IUI's and push IVF on you before even performing the necessary testing. He discredits the importance of laprascopic surgery even though so many women conceive after having the surgery. I will warn everyone not to waste their time going to this doctor.

I have done several IVFs with Dr. Knochenhauer and they all failed. One of them was ectopic and I had to be rushed to the ER for complications. He rarely does any tests to see what the underlying problem is. His nurse Katy is anything but warm. His office staff Sue is extremely rude.
