Dr. Eric Monesmith, MD

Dr. Monesmith replaced my knee. Although it's not fun, I couldn't have been happier with the process, the staff and Dr. Monesmith in particular, unfortunately 6 months later I fell and ruptured the patellar tendon in the same knee. Dr. Monesmith was able to put my knee back together and I am able to walk and without pain. Walking with a limp and never being able to bend my knee were possibilities for me. I could not have been more satisfied with my experience. I've read the negative reviews and my take is that some people don't like to hear that weight loss is the best thing they can do for their joints and heart. I've lost 40 pounds post surgery & can only say that I feel better than I have in years.

Bad bedside manner, rude, and quick to dismiss you unless you are a surgical candidate...

He treats you like a transaction. If you're not spending big money on a surgery be prepared to be dismissed. He doesn't listen and he doesn't care about you just your money.

Dr monasmith wants to get you in and out at the highest cost out of your pocket with the least amount of care he could possibly provide. He is a businessman and you are the client he is not in my opinion of professional position that cares about his clients or his patients.

If you are in any way overweight, he will call you Fat. He then, without looking at my chart, taking my blood pressure or seeing that I have lost an average of 4lbs a month since November. told me I had no business working out at this weight. He also gave me a diet book about the Paleo diet so I "could learn why America was so Fat." He then shamed me for being on a Dr Prescribed Weight loss drug. Without asking my current eating habits or any information he told me that I do not know anything about nutrition. I was there for a simple knee injury, not a nutrion consult. I left his office in tears. It was the worst experience of my adult life. It felt like being made fun of in High school all over again. He has no business giving nutritional advice without knowing anything about the patient. He spent more time telling me how fat I was instead of focusing on my actual knee issue. He then said I was on the mend and left the room. I would never, ever see him again even if a follow up was… required. I will do everything in my power to let people know about what a awful Dr he is.

I had bi-lateral knee replacement in May of 2016. I was off work for 12 weeks. Dr. Monesmith accurately described what to expect each week I was off. And he was right on each and every week. It was still up to me to exercise and do therapy timely. First few weeks were somewhat difficult but I kept telling myself this pain will go away unlike the pain I had before surgery. By the eighth week, I had met all my goals and kept improving. My job involves being on my feet 8 to 10 hours a day. The surgery and therapy fully prepared me to return to work. I'm able to do things I haven't done in a long time. Maybe even play some tennis again. I made the right decision to have the surgery and very pleased that Dr. Monesmith performed it.
