Born and raised in Knoxville, Dr. Parks received both his undergraduate and medical degree from East Tennessee State University. He performed his residency in family medicine at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where he served as chief resident.

During his residency, Dr. Parks was the assistant team physician for the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, ringside physician for the Junior Golden Glove boxing circuit, and an instructor for the universityâ€™s graduate school for athletic training.

In 2009, Dr. Parks also completed a sports medicine fellowship at the Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in Birmingham, Alabama, during which he served as team physician for the University of West Alabama, Gardendale High School, and the Birmingham Barons (White Sox AA team).

As a sports medicine physician, Dr. Parks has also been on the medical staff for the Knoxville marathon, Mercedes marathon, NCAA Division I- AA Football National Championship games, and Southern …Conference tournaments.

After working with the physicians of Watauga Orthopaedics while in medical school, Dr. Parks returned to the Tri-Cities and joined the practice in 2009. He is dedicated to the nonsurgical treatment of sports injuries, arthritis and fractures. He treats patients of all activity levels â€“ from the weekend warrior to the competitive athlete and those who simply long to return to their hobbies â€“ helping them to maintain healthy, active lifestyles. Dr. Parks lives in Kingsport with his wife, Lindsay, and their three boys, Brady, Anderson, and Campbell. He enjoys running, snow skiing, and church activities.
