Dr. Eric Saunders is a board certified fellowship trained LASIK specialist who practices general ophthalmology. He has been certified by VISX since 1999, and has performed over 1,000 LASIK procedures. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Hiram College, Dr. Saunders graduated from the Johns Hopkins University Medical School. He completed his residency in diseases and surgery of the eyes at Vanderbilt University, and then completed a full year of fellowship training in LASIK before joining Ridgewood Ophthalmology in 2002.

The associate who gave me the tests before the doctor came in (Christina) was great…she was thorough and gave me confidence that I could continue and succeed. However, Dr. Saunders did not give me any time, talk with me, give me information…he introduced himself and said good bye…. Not helpful..,

Met with Dr. Saunders as my final visit after cataract surgery with Dr. Friend. Dr. Saunders was very pleasant and professional. He asked all the right questions and examined my eyes! All good! I would recognize him.

I only saw Dr. Saunders as a final follow up after my cataract surgery which was done by Dr. Friend. Dr. Saunders was pleasant and friendly. There wasn't too much to be said by him because my eyes were in very good shape after the surgery. I would not hesitate to go to him if I was looking for a new eye doctor.

I wanted to make and appointment and the lady at the desk was extremely rude and impatient. She was annoyed because I asked her if she had other available dates. She did not care at all. Time to replace these people. I am ready to move to a different practice. I am done with these people

FYI, Dr Saunders and staff are now part of the Valley Medical Group. Generally, there is nothing wrong with the service or staff at this office. HOWEVER, if you do go, PLEASE CHECK YOUR BILLING INVOICE. My cost was between DOUBLE and TRIPLE what it was only FOUR MONTHS AGO...FOR THE SAME SERVICE. The only explanation they provided was..."Now we are part of the Valley Medical Group." BEWARE!!!

I cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Eric Saunders. The epitome of professionalism, intelligence, and expertise, Dr. Saunders went into the medical profession because he is brilliant (and modest) and he truly wants to help people and make a difference in their lives. He has been my ophthalmologist for years, and he recently performed LASIK surgery for me. I could not be happier with his guidance before, during, and after surgery, and with my results. Please visit Dr. Saunders for your annual exams, eye care needs, and for a LASIK consultation. You will not be disappointed.
