Incredible surgeon who tells it like it is. The comment about him being “curt,” is comical. News flash...most surgeons do not possess the skill to sugar coat anything, including their coffee. He is a master of his trade, which is why he is the head of general surgery. My guess is his assessment of her child was correct, but his delivery was to the point. My first day, I started to give him report on our patient. He told me, If you can’t tell me what the problem is in 20 words or less, you’re not prepared to talk about it. Never were there truer words. He is infamously known for saying, “Do the right thing.” Bottom line, I worked with him 15 years. I could look a child’s parents in the eyes and tell them with full confidence, they were in the best hands. A man of few words. Listen when he talks. He may be a man of few words, but he chooses them wisely and everything he does is meticulous and well thought out. Consider yourself fortunate if your child happens to be a patient of his. … Superman doesn’t wear a red cape at Primary Children’s Hospital. This hero wears a white lab coat and saves lives everyday. The only problem with this review, was 6 stars wasn’t an option.

We are most grateful to Dr. Scaife for his kindness, patience and professional talents as a surgeon. He started working our son's case 2.5 years ago. Each time we have an appointment with him, he makes my son feel as though he is the only patient in his office. He is generous with his time and has patience with our many questions. He did a fabulous job correcting my son's Pectus Excavatum. We look forward to our next consult with him and feel we are in the best of hands.

He was a complete jerk. Made me feel insignificant and as though I was beneath him. Told me there was nothing wrong with my child that he could see. Didn't told me "no" when I'd suggest things that would help check her out and said he wouldn't do it. He poked her belly button once and that was it. My child is still screaming in pain and he said there's nothing he can do. He didn't even try.

Curt. Not very friendly for a pediatric doctor.
