Dr. Eric Scott Wiener, PhD

I wrote what is supposed to be an anonymous review with specific detail about my concerns with my experiences as his patient for many years - clearly Dr Wiener recognized me as the author and even though I quit his practice and terminated contact, he thought it ok to attempt to face-time call me on a Saturday without warning - presumably to signal his displeasure about my review - I think that incident speaks for itself about how disrespectful he can be towards at least some of his patients.

I went to Dr. Wiener for approximately a year and he was a delight to speak to. Great listener and I always left with something to meditate on for the week. When I moved away he told me I could call him if I needed to while I try to find another therapist. He deeply cares about his patients.

Dr Wiener started out helpful but over time, he became increasingly insulting - using profanity, rolling his eyes, sighing, making sarcastic comments. He seemed to view any setback as the fault of the person hurt by these developments. I even asked him - what if a complete stranger just slapped me in the face - he then said - well maybe you were wearing a t-shirt that said “F*** you”. He also frequently made insulting comments about my support for Hillary Clinton - like he could not even hear that detail about me without getting insulting. Sometimes he would smile when he described “how Hillary could not even come downstairs to make a concrsssion call the night she lost.” He smiled in the same way when he frequently unprompted would state - about people who were hurtful to me - well they did not like you... they did not like you. I brought up his behavior many times and got told - therapy can be painful or you have to focus on your piece of anything bad that happens to you or … how he was frustrated with me and could not hide it anymore. He also would not listen to me when I told him there were aspects of my life I did not want to discuss in my therapy sessions - even shouting over me. He seems to enjoy insulting me, I think he seemed very biased towards men and towards conservatives and I think all he did was destroy my confidence - I have seen other therapists before and they did not judge like that or make me feel bullied or insulted - he had me convinced it was all me and now that it has been over a year and I have talked about this with friends and family and other therapists, I realize we had an extremely unhealthy therapeutic relationship - I think he has a mean streak towards liberal women.

I submitted a post last year on Dr. Eric S. Wiener last year 2018. I am seeing the psychotherapist again while expressing my opinions in a positive manner. As I read last years post I wasn't being fair and in order to continue a patient/doctor relationship it has to be constructive during sessions.

I have been a patient of Dr. Wieners on and off for several years, as need necessitated. I find him most effective in his counseling skills. He, as any professional, has his own style. I know that I have his undivided attention throughout the session. A therapist is a guide, but an essential component of therapy is the work a person puts into resolving their issues outside of the clinical setting. He is sensitive to my issues and remembers content of each session, following up in helping me identify question and concerns. I view counseling as being a dynamic process of learning, application, and problem solving rather than dealing with individual parts of the problem. That is one of Dr. Wiener's strengths.

I have been seeing Dr.Wric S.Weiner for 2yrs and although he's nice and does share a personal phone number .I have been struggling and seeing him doesn't make bring relief. Yes I am in control and in charge of my health but he's clueless, some sessions he looks like he's falling asleep. I am at a loss and my option is not returning for treatment and this review. The anger, anxiety, depression, and flusteration is of my own baggage and I blame myself but for a person of my age and history he can't give me suggestions. It has been ups and downs and I am done, so he should retire and let fresh new ideas come in the facility because he isn't it.
