Dr. Eric Willis, MD

I have had problems for quite some time with swelling, itchy, burning lower legs. Dr. Willis checked them out and gave me a prescripion for an ointment. I got the ointment, started using it and now I have no problem with my legs.

Stay away from this place unless you want to end up with a botched procedure. I saw Dr. Willis for a biopsy of a dark streak on a toenail. He is not personable at all. I am not sure if my race was a factor in his demeanor or if he was just a jerk. I believe it was both. He is incompetent, to put it mildly. The biopsy procedure was a complete nightmare! It was botched. I was informed that the procedure would take no longer than 30 minutes. It took him over an hour to complete it. He also had to stop during the procedure and tell his assistant to grab other equipment to continue. Rather than having all the equipment and tools readily available. Then I had to wait for his assistant to return with the tools. If he had not already begun working on my toe, I would have left! During the procedure, he had to stop and place more lidocaine because he took so long with the procedure that I began to feel pain. I had asked if the whole nail would be removed, to which he replied yes, in a cold… manner. He did not remove the entire toenail as he said he would. He in fact left a piece of the toenail in place, which he had already separated with a tool to remove. Which I discovered when I removed the bandage later that day. The remaining toenail was also damaged with a crack in a portion of the nail- it was not there at the beginning of the biopsy. When I also inquired on whether the stitches were dissolvable, he once again responded with no, coldly. Then he said I could remove the stitches myself in a few days. He also said it once more after he had finished my biopsy while leaving the room. No aftercare instructions were provided by him or his assistant. The most the assistant said was to watch for signs of infection and to call them. I called the office a few days later because I developed an infection. The staff told his assistant that I wanted my results, not that I thought I had developed an infection. I had to go to my primary to get the stitches removed and treated for an infection due to Dr. Willis leaving a partial toenail that was damaged in place. He placed the stitches so tight that it took 15 minutes for my doctor to successfully remove them. Because of the damage done that was done to my remaining portion of the toenail and the pain from it, I also had to go to a podiatrist and have the remaining toenail removed! I went elsewhere because I did not and still trust them as far as competency.
