Dr. Erica Lynn Lehman, MD

Dr Lehman truly saved my life after years upon years of suffering without answers. I can’t say enough good things about her as a doctor and a person. She really digs to find what the root cause is and leaves no stone unturned. When I initially came to her I was completely bed ridden and slowly wasting away with lyme, and under her guidance and protocol I am back in my life. She truly cares about helping her patients.

Im hoping that everyone considering Dr Lehman reads this review carefully. I came to Dr Lehman in Spring 2019 with a test from Igenex that suggested a Lyme co infection was in the picture. Without doing any further investigation to isolate which co infections I actually had, she started me on a stem cell treatment as the very first thing she did. Now having spoken to other Lyme docs around the country and specifically on East coast, this is highly controversial and very unproven. In fact, it was hard me to find any other docs who would vouch for this treatment and most said they've only seen poor results in Lyme patients. And... it costs $3500. Dr Lehman will tell you that's a steal. Immediately after my second treatment my nervous system went haywire. I ended up in the hospital with back to back PVCs. Dr Lehman denied it was stem cell and attributed to something moldy I ate for lunch, which is laughable at this point. In any case it has been months and my nervous system has still not… recovered completely. I don't know whether I've done permanent damage. When I spoke w her she told me to have my heart checked. She didn't help me to get into see a cardiologist like most concerned docs would have done but rather just told me to make an appt with a cardiologist. It was such a horrible experience. I wasn't able to be w my kids for weeks because the anxiety and panic attacks were so bad. I urge you to do your homework before seeing this doctor. She will tell you that she hasn't had any issues with stem cell because she doesn't accept that it could cause them. But I am here to tell you that it definitely messed me up and I have experienced Lyme doctors on the east coast who back that up. I don't want to assume the worst in people but it's a high ticket procedure for her and I don't think she wants to give it up. Again it was the very first thing she did to treat me without further testing which all doctors since had insisted upon before any treatment. She also gave me thyroid medication for a normal thyroid which cause issues as well. I'm not one to leave negative reviews, but I feel that in this case it's imperative that people know the truth.

I was a patient back in 2017, and someone recently asked me about my experience with this doctor. I was shocked to see so many good reviews for her, my experience was awful. I'd avoid her at all costs, especially if you have chronic Lyme. She has no idea how to treat it and she is more interested in collecting your payment than she is in helping you get better. Staff is outrageously disorganized - if you have to submit to your insurance, their bills are a nightmare (handwritten and usually containing tons of errors). Email communication from staff is spotty and sometimes completely nonsensical. She is always in a rush: she read my labs for the first time while I was on the phone with her (while charging me by the minute), she forgot important case details and send me medications that I was allergic to on two occasions, and then had the audacity to argue with me about how it wasn't her fault (despite the fact that it was on my intake form AND I reminded her when it happened the first… time). She would habitually cut me off when I had additional questions and she literally scolded me for not following her email instructions exactly (for intake forms)...all the while knowing I had a severe neurological condition that affected my ability to process written information. She also rescheduled several appointments in a row with no explanation, so I was going without care for MONTHS on end for my chronic condition (I found another doctor so that wouldn't be the case). She also failed to acknowledge and treat a key part of my case, even though it showed up in my labs. Please, please, please don't waste your time or money on this one.

My 14 year old suffered for 8 to 9 years with over 50 symptoms, from joint pain to paralysis and convulsions, yet was always given either a prescription for opiates or a referral to a psychologist. After doing my research, I felt it may be Lyme related, and through diligent research, sought out Dr. Lehman.! For those who become engulfed into this virtual abyss, you know it's relevance to politics, big Pharma, and greed. Anyone choosing to treat anything Lyme related, (especially after already securing a prestigious title that society accepts as an ophthalmologist) would be either insane or have an innate drive to help those who are suffering. Throughout appointments, phone consults, and emails, we learned she is not deranged, (although I know I would be), but honestly wants to help. As for not being Lyme literate, she is a board member of lymedisease.org, keeping up to date on the latest discoveries and treatments. There is no one pill or one protocol to solve this epidemic,… which is also no fault of hers. Is the doctor busy? Umm YES!! Does she charge quite a bit? Ummm yes! Do not place the blame on her, instead give thanks to the good ole U.S. of A’s rules and regulations forbidding insurance to cover any Lyme related treatments for over 21 days. Bottom line is Dr. Lehman is an intellectual saint whom we have grown to absolutely admire and will be forever grateful for her wisdom. Thank You, Dr. Lehman

Best Lyme doctor.

I know nothing about Dr. Lehman's knowledge pertinent to eye care, but I am a patient of hers due to my diagnosis of Lyme Disease. The strain I have been infected with is not acknowledged by the FDA or CDC, and she is one of the few doctors willing to treat me. A lot of things are holistic, and she really keeps up with you throughout treatment. When I email her a new symptom, there she is calling me an hour later to figure out how to make it better. She's extremely intelligent. Her assistant Jose is a nice man. Although they operate in a doctors office that is completely unrelated to hers, it's really not too bad. The facility is getting redone, but is already OK. Sometimes her assistant is hard to get ahold of. But trust me, it's worth it to be patient. This is a two person team, helping Lord knows how many people recover from Lyme Disease. They work their butts off, and it shows. I feel cared for, but most importantly, I feel like my doctor is on my team. Thankful I found her.

Left a 10 message on voice mail to the doctoe assistant, and never got a call back. I cannot understand how a serious doctor can runs medical clinic when no one answer the phone ever.
