Dr. Erik Fenton Perkins, MD

THIS DR. IS RUDE AND VERY CONDESCENDING. HE TOOK OVER FOR DR. HOUT AT SHARP WHICH I SAW FOR FIVE YEARS FOR BOTOX FOR MY MIGRANES AND NEVER HAD AN ISSUE. IT WAS MY FIRST VISIT WITH THIS DR. COMES IN NOT EVEN A HELLO HOW ARE YOU? NOR DID HE INTRODUCE HIMSELF, SAT THERE AND ALL HE DID WAS INTERROGATE ME ABOUT MY REASON FOR BOTOX, WHY ONLY 50 UNITS, I TOLD HIM THAT'S ALL I'VE BEEN GETTING AND IT WORKS! THIS NONESENCE WENT ON FOR 35 MINUITES NON STOP! HE ALSO QUESTIONED HIS PEER DR. HOUT'S INTEGRITY AS WELL... THIS MAN MADE ME FEEL INTIMIDATED, UNCOMFORTABLE AND BILITTLED. I WOULD NOT BE IN A ROOM WITH HIM ALONE ASK FOR A NURSE TO BE PRESENT NOT TRUST WORTHY!!!!!

I had dr perkins for long time. I went to see him because I had chronic migraines. I told him I had a horrible migraine for 2 months. It never left. He gave me sumatripton. I ended up having to go to the emergency room later for a bad fall. I was having weird symptoms after that and they rushed me in for an mri. They found out I had multiple sclerosis. He sent me to see an ms specialist at ucsc. Things got confusing. I didnt know who my dr was anymore. Felt like I was dumped off on someone else. He stopped getting back with me when I tried contacting him. Took forever to get on the meds gilenya. I had to contact the company to get on them. The person that worked for him, his ma Thomas just said, you can go to whoever you want. When I realized I had ms and had that migraine for 2 months, they should have sent me in for an mri. I could have found out I had ms along time ago. Alot of time was wasted

I am 70 years of age and have never seen a more unfriendly atmosphere in a medical setting. Not once after many visits did Perkins ever look directly at me but kept his head buried in the papers he was referring to. Never did I see a smile or a warm greeting. His staff exhibits his behaviors.

Before I start - No, at any time we did NOT do anything to upset this doctor during the appointment. My father was referred to this doctor to review scan results for the clot in his brain due to injury. While he is knowledgeable he also had the WORST manners I have ever seen! We did not feel welcome or comfortable. He seemed rather irritated that all but two of us accompanied my Dad (who is hard of hearing) to the room. He had very visible signs of deep breaths whispering "Oh God" followed by a series of eye rolls when he would leave the room. Where do you doctors lose your humanity? I don't expect to seek care and be treated differently due to your personal opinions. Not to mention the nurses seemed to gossip and the receptionist was rude. Keep in mind my father had a brain injury and not as coherent. Thank God my Dad's condition improved on it's own and we never have to deal with the doctor again!

Dr. Perkins was one of the worst doctors I have ever seen. Being a new patient with a new medical condition I was looking to learn more information about (seizures), he could not have been more uncooperative, unhelpful, or unsympathetic in a time when I was obviously looking for answers and understanding with a new condition. At my appointment, he was very indirect with providing me any answers to my questions. He asked for multiple tests to be done, and when I asked if I should make a follow up appointment once the tests were complete, he said there was no reason to do so and to just make a follow up appointment for 3 months later. I had to repeatedly contact his office to receive information about my test results, rather than him calling me. Finally, I was the one who had to question if I should go on medication once the test results were in. If I hadn't asked, I'm sure he wouldn't have bothered prescribing anything until my follow up appointment 3 months later. Really great at… treating his patient's health concerns, right? In addition, I constantly received really poorly written email correspondence from him that made no sense at all. For instance, I received this as part of one of my messages: "The still want me to fill it out because her going to ask what the levels are later also if you have started taking the medication." Obviously, this sentence makes no sense--I constantly received emails with this really incomprehensible language, which was extremely unprofessional and unhelpful.

Dr perkins diagnosed my MS about 15 years ago.alot has happened to me since then. I lost my job, my husband,had to move out of state. broke bones, have had something just recently very weird with my ms an I need to see a doctor nd dr perkins refuses to see me. what do I do?

I would recommend Dr. Perkins to my family and friends. He was very approachable, went over my medical needs with me and answered my questions. He was also very approachable and caring, which is very rare these days!

Dr. Perkins is very nice doctor...which seems to be getting rarer and rarer. :-P He listens to you and spends time with you.

Dr. Perkins is always on time. Takes time to listen to me and is great at helping me.

I have been a patient of Dr. Perkins for over two years. I have complete confidence in his professional judgment and I trust and rely on him for my health care decisions.
