Eva Sietsema, FNP-C

Eva Sietsema is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who enjoys the diversity of providing primary care for patients of all ages and backgrounds. Sietsema has always desired to care for people. Starting out as a nurse working in emergency and critical care, she learned she wanted to do more.

“I wanted to work with families to help them achieve their health goals and hopefully prevent emergency and critical care needs,” she said.

She believes that a close relationship between a patient and a primary care provider can aid in preventing common health problems such as obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular health issues.

“Having a primary care provider is so important to identify risks, promote healthy lifestyle and to prevent future health issues,” she said.

After helping her mother through several medical issues, Sietsema learned firsthand what patients face as their health status changes, and draws from that experience to advocate for her patients. Her approach with patients is to …meet them where they are, establish a relationship and work with them toward mutual goals that optimize their health.

“I like to think that I treat my patients the same as I would if they were my family,” she said.

Sietsema earned her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Saint Francis College of Nursing in Illinois and her Master of Science in nursing through the nurse practitioner program at the University of Cincinnati.
