Dr. Evan Dougherty, MD

Excellant surgeon! I needed surgery on my kneecap - broken in a fall. THe was to the point, yet totally compassionate. I did pre-tests at Hinsdale and Lagrange Hospitals. I was asked over and over again by staff at each, "Who's your surgeon?" I said "Dr. Dougherty." The unequivical response: "Oh, I love him!" "You're so lucky. You are in great hands". In general, I would not say I'm easily impressed..but he is beyond wonderful. Compassionate, down to earth, yet a top notch surgeon. I 100% recommend him.

I had significant injuries from a fall where my leg was broken in two places, my ankle was broken and the ligaments in my knee were torn. The ER doctor highly recommended Dr Dougherty even though he was in another practice at a different hospital. Dr Dougherty's calm manner and thorough preview prior to surgery and his comprehensive post op treatments were very welcome and reassuring at a very difficult time for me and my family. Due to the degree of damage to my leg, there were additional surgeries required and each one was handled in an extremely professional and caring fashion. Post-op recovery was challenging, but Dr Daugherty saw me through each step of the way. Like any great surgeon, Dr Daugherty surrounds himself with an outstanding support staff so my thanks goes out to Laura and Carmen as well.

I met Dr Dougherty in the emergency room after a fall had fractured my femur. Dr Dougherty installed a rod to my leg while another surgeon operated on my arm which had been injured in a previous fall. My leg healed while my arm did not. I returned to Dr Dougherty later to repair my broken arm. Both arm and leg are now completely healed. Dr Dougherty has a great bedside manner and was always compassionate.

I can't even describe how stellar of a physician he is... Dr. Dougherty (pronounced dock-err-tee) took such good care of my 4 year old with his broken arm... from the ED to the OR to follow up in clinic with multiple cast changes he kept us informed, smiling and provided the best orthopedic care I could have hoped for. Even gave him a custom spiderman cast at one of the visits. 5 stars alllll the wayyy!

I am walking unaided now, only using a cane when I go outdoors. His surgical skills are excellent; I can truly say that I had minimal to no pain after the operation. He is personable and caring, explaining to my family what to expect and keeping them informed. I recommend him highly.
