Dr. Evan G. Meeks

Dr. Meeks repaired my shoulder and I highly recommend him. From the initial visit, to the surgery, to post-op, Dr. Meeks takes the time to explain what is happening and walk with you through it. His bed side manner is great, his staff is very helpful, and he is a highly skilled surgeon.

Wait time of over two hours to see him.

I was referred to Dr Meeks by the ER for a sprained shoulder. I arrived at 2:30 pm, a half hour early for my first appointment (as requested by his office). At check in I was told he was an hour behind. After waiting in the waiting room for 45 minutes I was escorted to a treatment room. The medical assistant took my information and told me the doctor would be in shortly. TWO HOURS later he still had not been to see me. No one from his office checked on me as I sat in the exam room waiting. It was now 5:15 in the evening and I had to pick up one of my children from after school practice. I went to the nurses station and was told I was “next”, although he had just started with another patient and no one could say how much longer it would be. I left without seeing him. I have never had this experience before at a doctors office. Never ever again.

I waited over 2 hours to be seen by him at my first appointment, only to meet with him for less than 10 minutes. He gave me a treatment plan and I followed up. I waited over one hour and saw him less than 5 minutes. Because I am not a surgical candidate, he dismissed me and didn’t treat me with care. He doesn’t value the patients time, concerns and spends more time talking about his life outside of work, than getting to know the patients concerns. I was treated like just a number and not a paying patient.

Dr. Meeks is the team physician for Pearland HS. I have been his patient for a year. He makes sure I am rehabilitated and ready to play. He is available to talk and I can get the answers to any questions I have about my injury. Very personable and he cares about the players and our concerns.

Great personality/bedside manners that helped ease the pain and the unknown questions/answers about the injury/treatment.

Don't go to this doctor. My mom had knee and leg pains. She had an xray from an urgent care doc who said she had no cartilage in her knees. We waited over three hours for him to talk to her for five minutes or less. He said it was just arthritis. Three weeks later and in worse pain my mom's primary doctor agreed with her initial diagnosis and recommended another orthopedic doc. Don't waste your time on this one.
