Serious Concerns Regarding Practices & Competence: Evan Thompson displayed a troubling lack of understanding of basic psychiatric protocols, including “restrictive intervention,” a core concept for mental health professionals and those working with people with disabilities. During my stay, he declined to release me despite being stable for several days, a fact confirmed by other staff. He also falsely claimed to have met with me when he had not, which was distressing and undermined trust. I insisted another staff member be present when meeting with him. These actions raise concerns about whether patient rights, ethical and legal standards were fully upheld. Patients and families should be vigilant to ensure care decisions are appropriate, transparent, and in line with professional and legal obligations.
