Dr. Everett Lawrence Weiss, MD

We've been seeing Dr. Weiss since my son was born in 2008 and we have always been very pleased with him. He's very thorough, especially in areas that you may be concerned with. I've never felt rushed (as so many doctors tend to make you feel these days)and he's wonderful in regards to not 'beating around the bush', for this alone, he deserves 5 stars!

We have been taking our children to Pediatric Specialists in Crystal Lake for several years up until lately. Dr. Everett L Weiss is a compassionate doctor however; we feel that Dr. Everett L Weiss did not treat our child in a way we felt was in our/his best interests. Dr. Everett L Weiss of Pediatric Specialists in Crystal Lake treated our child several months ago and admitted our child to the hospital (local hospital), when a specialist (A REAL CHILDRENS SPECIALIST) saw our child he was sent home within a few hours. Dr. Everett L Weiss again saw our child a few months after this hospitalization for the same issue, this time they decided to keep our child in office a couple hours to treat him with a neb and again admit our child to the hospital (we are now being billed for critical care in office albeit this not being billed the first time for the EXACT same thing). This time we refused Dr. Everett L Weiss recommendation and received a second opinion, and we are thankful we did. … Our child's breathing was less of a concern by the second Physician, who has been practicing longer that Dr. Everett L Weiss, this physician noticed a DOUBLE EAR INFECTION, DOUBLE CONJUCTIVITS and did not recommend hospitalization. Up until now Dr. Everett L Weiss had said that our childs eyes were gooey because the tear ducts were not open and suggested we rub them! Wow! Long story short, our child is in the right hands now and being treated properly, after receiving some ointment for the eyes and antibiotics all is well again. Last but not least, Dr. Everett L Weiss of Pediatric Specialists of Crystal Lake called us on our home phone at almost 9pm at night to let us know how displeased he was that we did not take our child to the hospital the second time (20 minute conversation, I dont know why I wasted my time listening). The only reason I write this review is that many of us who have children hold Doctors, like Dr. Everett L Weiss of Pediatric Specialists of Crystal Lake, on a pedestal and hold on to their every word, well I have news for you (I learned the hard/expensive way) do your research and go with your instinct nobody knows your child like you do. If you dont trust them get a second opinion, we are thankful we did.
