Dr. Ewa Maria Gawlik, MD

Too long of a story. Overall, she doesn’t exactly listen to a parent, & she’s clearly not educated that there are spectrums to learning disorders & that not all of them mean a child is autistic. I asked for 2 yrs to evaluate my child & all the while she insisted they were too young then when they were of age, that she herself indicated the appropriate age when I began my concerns, it was that he was too old. When I finally convinced her to help me get an evaluation she refers me to an autistic care center. The worst part of everything, she continually says she isn’t to evaluate my child but rather to go to a specialist to do it but the specialist claims she’s the one that needs to. As a parent who knows nothing of who comes first & what’s on second, this is the most annoying run around I’ve experienced dealing with doctors & I’m glad to have supportive family & friends who know better than I & have directed me to the correct/better help & my child is officially getting the help he… needs….elsewhere.

Dr. Gawlik is the best doctor ever ,she is very caring ,reachable 24/7 like every doctor should be, she's just all I need and anyone would need in a doctor , I see her for many years since my son was a newborn and can't complain. We just love her and can't thank her enough and her stuff for all they do for us.Thank you.

Very disappointing,Dr. Gawlik is very nice and pleasant during my visit. Unfortunately a SHE DOES NOT GO THE EXTRA STEP for her patients.Leaving a sick patients to go and look for help some other place. If there is any complex issue or a problem she will notdo any diagnostic just send you some other place.

Dr.Gawlik is a caring Dr. who listens to the parent and is available to see you . She has been very accurate in diagnosing my daughter for 10 yrs. The staff is just as professional as she is.My daughter will age out this year and I don't know where I'll find a dr. like Dr. Gawlik.

My daughter had a virus that left sores in her mouth and were coming out toward her face. I took her to NY Presbyterian Pediatric Emergency room on a Sunday, which misdiagnosed the illness and prescribed the wrong meds (they did nothing to alleviate the sores as they continued to spread). A few days later, I took her to Dr. Gawlik who prescribed a different med which worked very quickly. Dr. Gawlik has never faultered and I have never had a problem getting an appointment when we needed it in over 6 years.
