Dr. Fahimeh Sasan, DO

Dr. Sasan provided me with the best possible care. After a 2 year struggle with infertility we transferred our care to her and became pregnant within 3 months.

She said women ovulate 14 days before menstruation. I pointed out that it varies depending on the woman’s cycle, but she insisted it occurs exactly 14 days earlier. Her statement is obviously untrue; I can’t believe a medical professional would not know that. Sure this was a minor issue, but I would not trust her with my health.

I’ll start by saying I’ve never felt compelled to write a negative review about anything or anyone. But after seeing Dr. Sasan on four separate occasions, I can objectively say that she’s the coldest, most impersonal doctor I’ve ever encountered. During our last annual she literally told me, “I don’t care what you do with your body.” And she seemed annoyed when I asked her a simple question about genetic testing. Leaving her office, I’ve consistently felt as though I was merely a number and not at all like a human being. She is the worst and I will never book another appointment with her again, nor will I ever recommend her to anyone I know.

Terrible bed side manner. Very cut and dry, to the point, sterile with very little personality. Didn't spend much time considering my questions or thoughts, would always breeze over any issue I brought up. Asked about a birth plan and she completely brushed me off and never brought up the issue again. Refused to discuss anything regarding birth until much later in the pregnancy, didn't want to discuss interventions until two days before my 42nd wk. Ran blood tests without my permission and after we had confirmed we did not want them done. Overall disinterested and unconcerned for her patients.

Really nasty, she is so arrogant, rude and condescending. She is also completely insensitive (I was crying after her pelvic exam) and I felt like she was just trying to make me feel bad about myself. She was also contradicting other doctors and nurses. Stay away for your own good.

I felt dismissed. I am not the type of person that needs hands on treatment everyday, but anytime I bring any questions up, or ask her opinion on things, its like I am wasting her time with my dumb questions about 'The Benefits of having a doula or midwife' in addition to a doctor, water birth, etc. This is my first pregnancy, and probably only one, and I feel like I was cheated out of the experience so many of my peers were able to have.

Dr. Sasan is my obgyn since 2011. I decided to go with the Faculty practice at Mount Sinai knowing that any of the faculty doctors could delivery when I'm due. Dr. Sasan delivered my son in 2012 and my daughter in 2015. Both of my pregnancies went well and I had a normal delivery. Throughout both of my pregnancies, she was very helpful and answered my questions. I also like Cecilia, the nurse who works with her. Overall, I am very happy with all of the services that I received at Mount Sinai.

It's hard to believe Dr. Sasan is a practicing OBGYN. I have come across her twice in recent past. I usually see another Dr in the same office, but she was on duty right after I delivered my son. Very insensitive to any of my questions, basically told me it was OK to take prescription medication and have a cocktail while I'm at it and breastfeed my baby, laughing in my face. Second time was even worst. I had to get a termination of pregnancy due to medical reasons and had a meeting with her, as my Dr was away at the time. Not only did she not even say sorry or have any empathy, but rushed through our appointment and my questions. Not a great doctor but a terrible human being.

She bullied me, wanting me to be induced at week 38th without medical reason. I had a perfectly normal pregnancy yet she threatened to call the POLICE, if I didn't allow her to induce me. Right in front of my husband. She used the scare tactics to manipulate an already hormonal woman. She should loose her license for that. She was on an agenda of inducement and c-section from day 1 without cause. I gave birth without her present and immediately switched OBGYN.

She has a horrible bedside manner. After reading some of the comments I saw, I'm convinced I was right to feel that way. She is also very condescending and made me feel small when I asked what she felt was a "silly" question. I will never go back to her.
