Dr. Farah Naz Toyserkani, MD

Do not recommend! Saw Dr. Toysekani for several years, unfortunately. She rarely remembered who I was. Diagnosed me with several serious conditions, that I didn't have. Treated a problem that I did have that I later found out was easily cured by a fairly simple surgery instead of the multiple outpatient procedures she performed. After one procedure she damaged my throat. When I brought it up, her response? You're just getting older. I am trying to find another gastro. I do not recommend her!

Thorough, dug deep. No nonsense. Told me what I needed to do. Didn’t sugarcoat it. Love her directness.

Having been a patient of Dr Marrone’s since the early 1980’s, I was asked if I’d like to have Dr Farah Toyserkani. I agreed & was very happy. Due to familial issues, I started getting colonoscopies every 2-3 years. It was during those, something about my liver was found. An MRI w/dye needed to be performed every 2-3 years to monitor it. I think the last time I had the 2 tests done were in 2008?. Then I moved out of state. I haven’t had any tests run since then, but still received notices at my old address, forwarded to me. Then early this year, I received a certified letter from Dr T, asking how I was doing/feeling, if I had permanently moved & to be sure to follow up with the exams. I thought her letter was very kind, thoughtful & really caring, just like she was during appointments. She’s thorough, she listens & makes sure we’ve tried all things diet, eating habits, types of food & where the food comes from, before she writes scripts for pills! I learned a lot from her, before the… internet exploded with info & sites about undigestible chemicals, pesticides & so on. I’ve finally found a Medical Group in my new State & will get the tests run; get everything current again. I finally found a professional group I can trust. I’ll miss her, but recommend her to all my Dutchess Cty friends. She’s lovely & puts your mind at ease. I didn’t have issues with the admin staff. They were friendly, discreet & very accommodating. Dr Marrone assembled a wonderful group of doctors for his growing practice, yet I never felt like a number. I never felt rushed either. I remember when Dr. T. was pregnant with her first baby. She’s always so professional but the baby made a big move inside her, startling her & she sat down, saying “wow, excuse me, I’m sorry!” I told her not to worry about it! Enjoy that moment! Even I saw it move under her white coat! She smiled. She’s a pretty lady. We both said nearly at the same time: It’s amazing! It’s incredible! I’m sure her baby is beyond college by now!

Simply stated. The doc is fine and the endoscopy center gets a B but the front office fails miserably. When I made it clear that I couldn't sit and wait indefinitely I was told that the appointments were close to be being on time. Long and short is that I sat and waited for nearly an hour with a patents family sitting next to be eating hamburgers and to the right was a " patient " using the cell phone at a decibel level that was far above a waiting room level.

Dr. Toyserkani is a poor communicator, is rushed to get through appointments and her assistants are put into the odd position to mop up her messes. Toyserkani does not employ any nurses and does not have a Physician's Assistant so getting additional assistance from her staff is difficult. This is a definitely a doctor stretched too thin and in need of a professional staff to compensate for her weaknesses.

First impressions are not good.: office staff are gossiping amongst themselves and even discussing patients in front of new patients in sitting area. Endoscopy was recommended even though no symptoms present. Get impression tests are recommended routinely absent need. Wait time is unacceptable. Dr. T. Is very disengaged with a perfunctory bedside manner. Second visit, the staff scheduled me for another office without even looking where I lived and location of first appt. Wasted my time and didn't apologize. Would not recommend to my friends or family.

I had to wait in the reception area and then again in the examination room for a total of thirty minute. Dr. Toyserkani was cordial. My consultation with her lasted seven minutes. I was then sent to an assistant. On the day of my visit, the staff at the DDC in Poughkeepsie was cold and disengaged. The rating of 3 reflects my opinion of the doctor. I give the office staff I interacted with a 1.

I was extremely disappointed with Dr. Toyserkani. The atmosphere of the office was quite rushed despite the long wait to be seen. There was very little eye contact, responses were short and clipped. The doctor did not as me about my symptoms and what made the symptoms worse or better. She then gave me advice on how to treat my problem which were all of the things that were making me feel worse. I felt thoroughly mentally exhausted and dejected when I left the office. I also felt that they are test happy...Is it there way to increase revenue for the office? I definitely will not go back.

Staff was not courteous, some didn't even make eye contact while speaking to me. Suite and exam room could have been cleaner. Wait time absolutely unacceptable. Dr. Toy was okay, but very rushed. Very disappointing!
