Dr. Fariba Amiri, MD

High energy, talks over and doesnt listen to patients, misdiagnosed with a cavalier attitude, chastises patient for not giving her information which was given to her but she refused to listen to it. Gaslights, harangues, discounts the patient and blames them for "not telling me you had that." Withholds basic pain meds for several hours, then tried to give pain meds I don't use. When I turned them down, she offered Tylenol and Norco. I didn't want narcotics and turned that down also. She then yelled at me again and was very exasperated. My notes at the time off admission to the hospital: Hospitalist wasn't admitting me. Then was sending me to st helena for an urgent 40% loss in heart function in 1 year, then discovered they were looking at the wrong patient, then asked me questions and lectured me for "not telling me you have asthma"...then said we're not admitting you, then had me walk on a portable oximeter, tolerate me how well I did with zero drop in 02, said Im not admitting you,… then said, "but you never told me you had asthma. Im admitting you for severe asthma." Dr. Amiri did a lot of gaslighting, patient blaming, and switched rapidly between being wonderful and charming to a total nightmare. Stay far away from her "care."

I was misdiagnosed. She said it is hormones. It indeed is not! Are no stars an option?

The Sharp Experience failed me on this hospitalization with the assignment of Dr. Farina Amiri. Admitted after having strokes and kidney issues. She never requested consults for Neurology and/or Nephrology. Speech Therapy was recommended by Speech Therapist she disregarded the recommendation. She was disinterested and condescending. Only bad Physician I’ve ever encountered at Sharp Memorial Hospital.
