We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Pashankar, Dr. Elena Ratner, and Dr. Emily Christison-Lagay for their tremendous help and support for our daughter. Our 12-year-old girl was admitted to Yale on February 14, 2024, in an emergency, feeling extremely bloated and weak. After emergency surgeries to drain the fluid and collect biopsies, we received the diagnosis of stage 4 ovarian cancer. The team was incredibly careful and delicate, yet proactive in initiating immediate chemotherapy, which lasted for 12 weeks. Throughout this time, the entire team was in constant communication, providing full transparency and support whenever needed. The final surgery was scheduled for early June, and the team conducted multiple calls to review alternative options and paths to ensure the best outcome, with a focus on preserving our daughter's ovaries and overall health. Fortunately, the treatment was so effective that a laparoscopic surgery was performed instead of the initially discussed… open surgery, leading to a very fast recovery.
