Dr. Faten Zaghloul Ahmed

This office is listed (in our network brochure) as participating in the Healthplex Dental insurance program. They seem to find one excuse after another to avoid treating a patient even though they collect a monthly check to provide dental services to participating union members. It's either total incompetence or intentional negligence. This is not a new facility so why can't they get covered procedures coded correctly? Then try to speak to someone who can correct the issue and that's going to be the person who "is not available." I wouldn't suggest you go here if you are in pain and using insurance because even if you get the work done the paperwork will be botched and you will surely be billed yourself. I have no doubt that any positive reviews came from uninsured patients because they are charged/billed the regular rates. Those with insurance that they are supposed to accept (as participating providers) have plans that reimburse at a lower pre-agreed rate. The participating… providers receive a monthly flat fee check regardless of the office treating any of the plan's members. Thus unethical dental practices prefer to treat none of the members of the plan so that they can just pocket the money without treating anyone. If they submit a bill or code incorrectly you are the one responsible for full payment! DO NOT AGREE TO ANYTHING MORE THAN A CLEANING UNTIL YOU HAVE CONFIRMATION FROM YOUR INSURER OR PLAN THAT THE TREATMENT THIS OFFICE SUBMITTED HAS BEEN FULLY APPROVED. Get approval in writing.

Dentist used items not covered by my insurance forcing me to pay an additional $2,000. They said "you signed the papers" and Self Insured dental went along with them.

Dr. Ahmed is amazing!! I was in immense tooth pain just days before a long-trip to Asia. Dr. Ahmed was so understanding and compassionate, she talked through all my options and connected me to the help I needed. I would highly recommend.

I came with a very painful toothache and based on the x-Ray, she said I needed a root canal on one of my top front teeth. I agreed cause most of the pain was coming from there. The only concern was that I had pain coming from the bottom part of my right side, but she said she didn't see anything. Didn't leave satisfied.
