There could not be a more compassion and knowledgable doctor than Dr. Ali. She is truly the best.

My daughter has seen a couple of psychiatrist and did not have good success. Her therapist recommended Dr Ali. She has a therapist dog and my daughter feels more comfortable with talking to women. I am impressed with the amount of time she spends with her patients. She does not make you feel rushed. That being said she usually runs late on her appointments. We see her every couple of months and drive an hour to see her but it’s worth it. I would recommend Dr Ali!!!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Fatima Ali for greater than three years and have extremely satisfied with the care she has given me. She has always provided valuable guidance and was instrumental in helping me secure disability insurance. She is easily available and extremely attentive to the patient's needs. 3 minutes ago My friend found out she was pregnant just a month or so ago. Her previous Dr, (Dr. Shah) delivered her first born. Dr. Shah told my friend she had low progesterone levels so she gave her an injection for it and she had a healthy baby boy. This second pregnancy my Friend used Dr Ali because Dr. shah has retired. My friend told Dr Ali of her previous condition and Dr Ali said that she didn’t practice that, which I find crazy because I’m not a doctor but I’m pretty sure progesterone is what is needed to help an unborn baby develop. My best friend now unfortunately just miscarried due to the baby not growing. I’m 99% sure that if Dr Ali would have taken more Precaution my best friend would still be carrying her baby. So sad she sounds very inexperienced and now my friend has to suffer the loss of a child all because it wasn’t “in her practice”.

My greatest praise goes to Dr. Fatima Z. Ali who has been my Psychiatrist for greater than 3 years. During this time I have received exceptional care and guidance and was provided significant assistance in obtaining Social Security Disability benefits. The quality of care I have received is unsurpassed and I would highly recommend Dr. Ali to anyone seeking help with their mental health issues.

Arrived on time had never been to this place before. Upon my arrival I was told I owed $169 for a previous appointment . It took a good 5 minutes to get the receptionist to understand she must have me confused with someone else. Turns out I didn't owe them anything and I have no copay. I then waited an hour and when I complain I was told that was pretty standard . Long story short they called us next and then I was confronted by a patient for doing before him, turns out his appointment was 5 minutes before mine. I tried to be nice about it and the kid went postal called me ever name in the book . It ended with him being restrained and me leaving .

I had seen several different psychiatrists before I started seeing Dr. Fatima and I must say that I am very surprised by the opinions and ratings of others. I have been seeing her for three months now and I could not ask for a more caring AND well educated doctor. When I called for my first appointment I was expecting to have to wait several weeks to see her but I was surprised to hear that she would make time for me as her assistant told me that she makes every effort to see her new patients within 24 hours. The one criticism I would have is about the wait time but that seems to be a criticism with every doctor I visit. When she greeted me she apologized for the wait and ushered me into her office. My subsequent visits with her were much shorter but I did not feel rushed at all, like others commented. I don't expect her to be my therapist but rather just my doctor and prescribe me the most appropriate medication for my needs and thats exactly what she did. I would recommend her to… everyone except my mother-in-law, even though she probably could get the most out of her!

Before relating my story, let me first say this: Dr. Ali's practice is all about making money and profit, not about patient care and putting their health first. This is true of both she and her husband, Dr. Syed Ali. For every little thing, expect a charge. To her, you are simply "business," a scary thing to be in the psychiatric profession, especially, when psychiatric patients require a lot of gentle handling and care. It should come as no surprise that most reviews of her are negative. She comes across as shrewd and business-like, full of empty words, with a fake aunt routine she pulls on you, only to pull the rug out under you when it matters. I won't recommend her on my worst enemy. I just got a letter from Dr. Ali, callously stating that she is terminating her services with me. Now that I am aware of how her practice works, I am relieved to be terminating services with her now, before I had invested much time and energy into seeing her.As to why she is doing it, it is a… complete misunderstanding. She claims I never showed up for one appointment, which I had actually cancelled, and was not even with her. I am not at fault here. I deserve an apology, which I dont expect to receive. I had actually just seen Dr. Ali the week before she sent her letter. However, one of the medications she had prescribed me was giving me severe side effects. I made a quick call to ask a 5 second question of Dr. Ali about whether I should stop it abruptly or gradually cut down my dose. She wasn't in, so they put Dr. Syed Ali on the phone, who did not answer my question, but rather insisted I come in to see him. It was clear to me that he told me this simply because he wanted to bill the insurance and collect a co-payment from me. I am glad that I am no longer involved with a business that cannot even answer a basic question on the phone without demanding payment, for what is, at most, a few minutes of their time.I made the appointment, but, upon reflection, I thought it would be a bit of a hassle to drive all the way down to Wheaton when I had just been there the day before to see my therapist, so I called the secretary, cancelled the appointment verbally with her in clear terms, and asked if Dr. Fatima Ali could call me back when she was done with patients, explaining that is was simply a quick conversation about a medication issue. I described the issue in detail to the secretary, explaining I wanted to stop the medication, but wasn't sure how to do it, and didn't wish to come in and pay another 30 dollars for what was, in essence, a 5 second conversation about a simple dosage issue, particularly as I had just seen her the week before. The secretary told me Dr. Fatima Ali would not call me back until after 6:30. I waited until after 6:30, called the clinic when I didn't hear from her, and got the voice mail. I don't remember if I left a message, but, in any case, I didn't hear back from her, and assumed she must have forgotten. I thought that was the end of the story, and my father, who is also a physician, advised me to stop the medication completely, which I subsequently did, without any issues.Ultimately, she terminated her services with me over what she thought was a no-show appointment, due to a miscommunication from her secretary. However, the fact remains that even though I am not at fault, and have left her a voice mail explaining the misunderstanding, I no longer have any desire to see her. She was shockingly rude, and, with callous disregard for her patient (who, I might add, she said was like a daughter to her-such empty words!), did not even have the courtesy to investigate the matter or call me personally.Before rushing to terminate her services with me, a little investigation on her part would have revealed the truth. This was completely unprofessional, and I would like to lodge an official complaint. Thank you for your time.

This doctor tries to work in tandem with her husband, which did not work out so great when he prescribed me Lamectol. I had a textbook allergic reaction to it-a rash, blurry vision, trouble breathing, etc. I called her, and she told me there was no possibility of me having a reaction like that to the medicine, even though the symptoms I listed were listed on the sample of Lamectol I was using. Turns out, she did not know that her husband had prescribed me Lamectol, and meant that I couldn't be having that reaction to another medicine I was taking that she had prescribed. This, despite the fact that I TOLD HER ON THE PHONE THAT I WAS TAKING LAMECTOL THAT HER HUSBAND HAD PRESCRIBED TO ME. In the meantime, my friend gave me Benedryl, which really saved my butt. (Dr. Ali and her husband would take a few hours to realize their mistake). So, they try to work together, but they fail to keep one another informed of their actions, resulting in what could have been a really bad situation. I love… to think of what could have happened to me had my friend not displayed the common sense that these two were sorely lacking, to think that I might have had to go to the hospital or could have become very ill because of the incompetence of two highly, hiiiighly paid "professionals". Of course, had she LISTENED to me on the phone, this entire scene could have been avoided, but this doctor is one of the worst listeners I have ever met. I strongly urge everyone to avoid this doctor.

This doctor screamed at me while cutting her hangnails with a scissors, barely making eye contact with me during me 15 minute, $100 appointment. She also displays an alarming ignorance when it comes to common medical issues. I would rather swallow tacks than lay eyes on her again, and I feel truly sorry for anyone who goes to her, regardless of her credential.
