Dr. Federico Ricardo Laham, MD

Federico Laham MD, received his medical degree with honors from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and completed his pediatric training at Jackson Memorial Medical Center in Miami. He them completed a pediatric infectious diseases fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, where he was a clinical instructor and attending physician. He is currently a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society and the Infectious Diseases Society of America. Dr. Lahams research interests, since his work as a postdoctoral research fellow at Johns Hopkins Hospital, have included the study of early immune response against influenza and paramyxovirus, the development of biomarkers for prediction of bronochiolitis severity, and the effect of respiratory syncytail virus in human airway epithelium. He has authored several papers and presented his research findings at international meetings. He teaches medical students and residents to establish the …Pediatric Infectious Diseases Division, and in 2011 was recognized as subspecialty faculty of the year. He joined Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children Pediatric Specialty group in 2010.
