Dr. Felix Luis Badillo, MD

I heard Dr. Badillo retired. He nor his secretary ever bothered to send out letters to his patients who have been seeing him for years. The patients are now just left blowing in the wind. They can either find a new urologist or see one of the remaining ones in the office who are suppose to not be good at all. And the office is so poorly run. Very disorganized.

I had two prior consults with the chiefs of urology at the two other major hospital systems on Long Island before seeing Dr. Badillo. By far, I felt Dr. Badillo was a better fit for me. He resolved any anxiety I had before robotic (Da Vinci 2) surgery. He took his time explaining the procedure and included a video as part of his explanation. There was more than enough time to ask questions. He is compassionate. Healing was quick, back to part time work within 1-1/2 weeks post-op; this usually takes much more time. Thanks so much Dr. Badillo.

2 hour minimum in the waiting room and 5 minutes maximum with the Doctor can frazzle any patients nerves. To top it off, a secretary will call you many days later with results of tests. The Doctor is no longer seen or heard from after the initial 5 minute screening.

Dr. Felix Badillo is an excellent professional, with a pleasant personality and a master of robotic surgery. Two months after the prostatectomy I feel better than ever. To get an appointment with the best is not an easy task. He described to me the surgery in great detail including a video clip of the actual procedure. Very informative and somewhat comforting. I would recommend this doctor to family and friends and everyone for that matter.

THE STAFF DOES NOT RESPOND TO REQUESTS FOR PRIOR AUTHORIZATION FOR PRESCRIPTIONS THAT REQUIRE IT. HAVE TO FOLLOW UP REPEATEDLY TO ACCOMPLISH REQUESTS.

The Biopsy report stated perineural invasion apparent. A doctor at Cancer Treatment Centers of America told me those words meant that the prostate cancer had already spread. Dr Badillo said "I don't put much weight with that" but sure enough that's what had happened. The surgery was unnecessary. I should have been treated with radiation. Furthermore, my sex life never came back in spite of Dr. Badillo's assurance that potency would return in a year at most. When it became evident that the surgery didn't get rid of the cancer Dr.Badillo became harder and harder to reach. When I asked him if the ever rising PSA meant that the cancer was spreading, he said "Oh, I wouldn't worry about that." Funny, my new doctor seems very concerned about it. On top of that I got an umbilical hernia caused by Dr. badillo's laparoscopic surgery. Now I have a six by eleven inch screen in my stomach holding things together. My new doctor says hernias are practically a side effect of laparoscopic surgery. No… one ever said anything about hernias while they were selling me on the benefits of the operation. If I knew what I know now four years ago I would never have had the operation! To say I'm disappointed in the outcome is the understatement of the century. The surgery is a waste of time, don't do it!

My Urologist recommended Dr. Badillo because he did not perform robotic prostatectomies. I can say from the first visit with Dr. Badillo that I felt very comfortable. My surgery went well. It's been over a year and I feel great. He is a caring surgeon with a pleasant bedside manner. I would recommend Dr. Badillo.

Excellent doctor. Would recommend him to anyone needing a good urologist. Good at diagnosing the problem and solving the problem.

I had a huge scrotal hernia that I let go for 20 years. It weighed 60 pounds and measured 46 inches around. Dr. Badillio was brought in on my case by top hernia surgeon Dr. Procaccino to do the urinary and scrotalplasty. Dr. Badillio did a magnificent job!!!. The entire operation took 9 hours!!!! While it has been over two months since surgery, and I am recovered from the hernia...Dr. Badillio is still working on the reconstruction....his goal is to make it perfect!!!. Aside from being a top notch doctor and a world class skilled surgeon, Dr. Badillio has that HUMAN quality that seems to be missing in so many doctors. He treats you like a person, not just a patient or a case. He speaks to you...not at you..and his bedside manner is second to none!!!!If you need a top urologist..you need look no further than Dr. Badillio!!!!!
