Dr. Felix Martinez-Mercado, MD

Do not go to see this man. I wished I didn’t have to see him for as long as I did but he was the only option with my insurance. I did not trust him to advise me with any meds. He would go on tangents about how I used to have nightmares and that was what was wrong with me. Every visit he would go back over my history because he never would remember it. He should not be practicing psychiatry.

I cant' thank Dr. Martinez or his staff enough for their sweet approach to my emotions. My job as a graduate student is highly stressful and exhausting, but when I come in to see Dr. M it's like hitting the reset button. I let out what I'm feeling and a weight has instantly lifted. With the right meds he's helped me more than he knows!!

I came into this office hopeful for him to help me with the recent issues I've experienced mentally. I was plagued with questions (because of course) but when he was done asking questions he told me that my life seemed normal and fine. "I don't understand you. Why are you sad? You have no reason to be." Let me tell you how much that broke me. I have NEVER felt so discouraged and hopeless in a psychiatrists office. Sorry that my parents are still together and that I was never abused. SO SORRY that there was no straight up answer as to why i'm depressed. I don't KNOW why i'm sad. That's why i'm here!!! He sounded like my parents who make a point to point out how great my life is and make me feel guilty for being sad. I am a college student, so I figured I would get this kind of treatment since many people of the last generation and then some dont believe mental illness is real or dont believe that someone can have a chemical imbalance in their brain that makes them this way. But coming… from a PSYCHIATRIST, nope. no thank you. I did not feel helped in any sort of way.

Both of my kiddos see Dr. Martinez and are always excited to visit with him. Staff is INCREDIBLE, fair, and super accommodating! I recommend Dr. Martinez to other parents whose children have behavioral problems. He's helped make such a difference in our lives.
