Dr. Filomeno Palacio Gonzalez, MD

Disappointed in Lack of Advocacy and Compassion I am deeply disappointed in the care my elderly aunt received under Dr. Filomeno P. Gonzalez at Resolute Health-New Braunfels. After her fourth weeklong hospital stay, it was clear that she needed inpatient rehabilitation to recover properly. However, Dr. Gonzalez failed to advocate for her admission, despite the urgency of her condition. During visits, her caregiver provided critical details about my aunt’s struggles, but these concerns were repeatedly disregarded. Worse, when we attempted to appeal the rehab denial, Dr. Gonzalez failed to provide the necessary details to support her case, leading to the loss of essential care. Beyond these issues, Dr. Gonzalez’s bedside manner left much to be desired. His approach often felt dismissive, condescending, and impatient, making an already stressful situation even more difficult for both my aunt and her caregiver. A physician's role is not just to diagnose but to advocate and listen.… Unfortunately, Dr. Gonzalez fell short in these areas, ultimately compromising my aunt’s well-being. I would not recommend his care for elderly patients in need of attentive, compassionate support.

He did not listen to anything is said. Told me that topical NSAIDS would not affect my stomach which is not true. Would not give me referrals to specialist. Acted like he was a dermatologist and a pain care specialist. He prescribed medication that upset my stomach even after I told him of my past stomach ulcers. He did not listen or believe what I was telling him.

Did not listen well. Prescribed incorrect amount of medication TWICE. The entire staff at this practice lack professionalism.
