Dr. Fivos Nicholas Gahhos, MD

Dr. Gahhos is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery-the only board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties to certify plastic surgeons. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Honors Biochemistry from McGill University, Montreal, Canada, Dr. Gahhos went on to complete requirements for his medical degree at McGill University and the University of Athens. He completed his internship and General Surgery training at McGill. In 1981 he was awarded a Master of Science degree by McGill University.

Dr. Gahhos moved to New Haven, Connecticut where he completed his Plastic Surgery residency at Yale University. He received additional fellowship training in Hand Surgery at the Yale-University of Connecticut Joint Hand Program, and Cosmetic Surgery training at Manhattan Eye and Ear Institute, New York City.

Dr. Gahhos has made numerous presentations at national and international meetings on innovations in the field of plastic surgery and has authored …more than twenty academic articles for leading medical journals and textbooks. He lectured and instructed doctors and medical students at Yale University for two years as an Academic Lecturer. He was recently awarded the Physician of the Year Award and voted "Best Cosmetic Surgeon" by the Readers Choice Award.

Dr. Gahhos is a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Surgery, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Florida Society of Plastic Surgeons, the Florida Medical Association, the Sarasota County Medical Society and the Yale Plastic Surgery Society. He has active staff privileges at the Venice Regional Medical Center, Venice Health Park Ambulatory Surgery Center and the Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Center where he performs most of his surgery.

The doctor's practice includes all aspects of aesthetic surgery with special interest in breast enlargement and facial rejuvenation. He also performs extensive amounts of skin cancer reconstructions.

Dr. Gahhos along with his son, Alex and daughter, Rosanna have made Venice, Florida their home since 1984. His practice extends over Sarasota and Charlotte Counties. The doctor enjoys painting, skiing, traveling, and the art of aesthetic surgery.
