Dr. Fotis Gregory Souslian, MD

I'm 75 with chronic lower back pain from arthritis, stenosis, and deteriorated disk. I have suffered with this for nearly 20 years, including sever upper leg pain and incontinence. My MRIs look like a literal train wreck. My PCP referred me to Dr. Souslian because he strongly believes in "minimally invasive" surgeries to address specific issues. I discovered that Dr. Souslian, who is a nationally-recognized excellent neurosurgeon, does not focus on HIS surgery, but on the PATIENTs well-being. In our first visit he did a very extensive examination, and referred me to numerous other specialists - so that IF we decided on surgery, it would be the best option. Dr. Souslian actually wanted me to find relief and healing without surgery, if at all possible. He is NOT a "cut-for-the-bucks" surgeon! In addition, the path of specialists he sent me on was such a blessing, because it led to early discovery of prostate cancer. I could go on with this, but I'll just end with the fact that my… chronic back pain is 90% gone, my leg pain totally gone, and we are not going to have surgery. Dr. Souslian is a master surgeon, but even more a true doctor who cares deeply for his patients. I could not recommend him more highly!

Extremely knowledgeable, straight forward, pleasant, excellent bedside manner. Answered all questions and clearly communicated impression with tact. Managed to imply seriousness of the matter without scaring patient and caregivers. Advised with detail the outlook, precautions, concerning sx & how to address, timeline, etc. Excellent provider. I suffered from severe back and leg pains and Dr. Souslian performed the surgery. Dr. Souslian is a very skilled surgeon and I had a perfect outcome. He personally called me at home over the weekend to ask how I was doing after my surgery. Dr. Souslian is caring, very personally engaging and a wonderful listener and communicator. I have never had a better experience and would highly recommend Dr. Souslian.
