Dr. Francis M. Metkus, MD

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Metkus since he started his practice and can't say enough good things about him and his staff. His manner is down to earth and compassionate and his medical expertise is admired not only by us, but by many of the specialists he has referred us to over the years. We have heard remarks from them that he is the best internist in the entire area. In all these years he has never failed to make a correct diagnosis nor to refer us if he feels it necessary for additional opinions or tests.

I have read some to the reviews and could not disagree more. I have been seeing Dr Metkus for many, many years, and he has been by far the best Dr I have ever come in contact with. He is consistently patient, caring and courteous. I have referred many people to him and every single person could not be more pleased. If I could give him more than 5 stars, I would.

Absolutely no common sense or consideration. You are a number & an insurance claim at this practice. If you are a caregiver or are a geriatric patient - LEAVE THIS PRACTICE NOW!!! Unless you're physically in the doctor's presence, paying to see him, Dr. Metkus considers you to be a leech, apparently taking time away from his ability to pat himself on the back. Believe me when I say, he doesn't care about you....HE is HIS first priority. Each time I've referenced his name with specialists and physician peers they've said equivocal to what I'm stating here.

This doctor discriminates and seems to only want to treat patient with CERTAIN pre-existing conditions but not others. IMHO even though he has some people that swear by him my experience with him has been bad. If you have some minor ailments he seems to like the easy one two three cases and a basic triage from him seems to be his thing.

Dr Metkus has been my PCP for 15 years now. Seeing him is like a breath of fresh air. I've never seen him have a bad day. He doesn't preach or ridicule anyone. (the post below may pertain to Dr Susman,one of Dr Metkus's associates. By the description, it sounds like Sussman) Anyway, Dr Metkus has been very supportive of my trying Homeopathic treatments on a condition most doctors are not familiar with (which he clearly admits to.) He was very impressed with some of my own research on anti imflammatory alterative treatments and even stated he was going to try them for himself. As far as the office staff goes I never had a problem getting a referral for my insurance. I like Dr Metkus alot. I would not have anyone else be my PCP. I thank God for him, especially since I've had such horrible experiences with specialists. NOt all doctors are the same. For sure!!!

Great Doctor. Genuinely cares about his patients. Spends lots of time talking through things and helps you to understand. Keeps himself updated on latest developments in medicine, works extremely hard and is very very considerate and patient

Great bedside manner and isn't just looking to make a buck. He won't do things that he feels isn't needed. Very refreshing when most doctors will do what ever they want for the cash.
