Dr Obrien is an excellent cardiologist: my husband saw him for over 30 years. What I question is his empathy and whether his Hippocratic oath extends past the revolving doors of NYU. I called Dr Obrien, on his cell phone, in a panic some months ago. My husband, his patient of over 30 years, was trapped in a small local hospital. They could not do the vascular surgery to save his leg there. I asked Dr. Obrien to help get him transferred to NYU. Dr. Obrien's reply to me was that it was Saturday, he was away, I should try to get my husband admitted via regular channels and that I should mention that my husband was a long time patient of the hospital. Thanks doc! My husband lost his right leg above the knee. Had Dr. Obrien bothered to use his long time gravitas and statue as a doctor at NYU to attempt to get him admitted perhaps the situation would have ended much better. Dr. Obrien, your cell phone was in your hand! I hope you and your family will always be treated with much more… kindness and caring than you showed us.

I have seen doctor o,Brian ,for over 20 years. For me he is the best of all the doctors i have had. If he should leave MY i would leave with him. Need i say more?

Dr O'Brien is amazing! He is the most comforting doctor imaginable. Smart, pleasant and put me at ease immediately. Go see him.

I have been seeing Dr. O"Brien for over 20 years. He is a very patent and thorough Cardiologist. I have moved a few times and still return to Manhattan even though I live two hours away. It is always a pleasure to see him and I know that I am getting an excellent examination.

Gave me a great feeling of confidence. I went to him for a second opinion and never returned to the first doctor. Importantly, took the time to acquaint me with my problem and with my prospects.
