Dr. Francisca Vangeloven Lytle, MD

Saw her for workers comp follow up when she was in Tennessee. A few weeks after a shoulder injury, I was still having pain. She sneered at me, but referred me to a specialist, then wrote to my boss behind my back, insinuating that I was faking. Luckily, my boss knew me and was a caring peron. Specialist said it was totally normal for me to still be having pain. It was some years ago, but I'very never forgotten her callousness and deceit. It sounds like she hasn't changed.

Dr Francisca Lytle was the locum on call when I needed emergency stabilization of my leg. I thought she was strange, but a quick internet search by my family didn't reveal much about her history and at that point I needed help and had few options. When talking to my husband after surgery, instead of directing her attention to him she answered a phone call from her son. The following day when doing her rounds, I complained of excruciating back pain and spasms. She attempted to minimize my pain and told me that she has had back pain so she knew EXACTLY what it felt like. I told her there was no way that another person can know exactly how another person feels and felt helpless and began to cry. At that point she said that she could see that there was obviously some other underlying mental issue with me and left.The nurse in charge of my care was in the room the whole time and was very apologetic and said she didn't know what set her off. She brought her nurse manager to me so that… I could make a formal complaint. I ended up having another surgery three hours from my home to repair another part of my leg and to fix the surgery performed by Dr. Lytle. (I live in ND where our health centers are few).Turns out I had herniated discs in my back that were the worst my neurologist had ever seen and was told I could be a cough or sneeze away from paralysis. I am recovering from that surgery now. When I got home and started sharing my my experiences with Dr. Lytle I discovered others in my small community who had unfortunate experiences with her as well. My advice would be to start calling around to people you know if you think you may need surgery to find out all you can about your surgeon. It frightens me to think that someone who can act so scary and irrational is wielding the knife in surgery.

Dr. V-G (aka Dr. Francisca Lytle, MD) is completely worth the difficulty in getting an appointment. She is absolutely the best!! She is amazingly caring and respectful, she also took the time to get to know me and my symptoms. I would recommend her to anyone!!!
