Dr. Frank Alon Katz, MD

Been a patient here for 2 years. Had my mother call in regards to explanation of benefits where she was met with Ally, who absolutely disrespected my mother instead of providing her with the simplest of information. Called personally afterwards where I said I would be coming into the office to discuss this in person as she stated to my mother mid convo that she would be hanging up the phone. Told Dr Katz to call the police because I was providing a “threat”. Then called back to speak with Dr Katz to which I could hear Ally screaming from the front office while we were on the phone. This office doesn’t even deserve a star. Classless, no etiquette individuals working in customer service is the problem here. My mother’s worked in customer service longer than Dr Katz has been in practice and said this is one of the wildest phone encounters she’s experienced!! The yelp reviews say even more, stating that even insurance representatives were met with what they called a “monster”. Dr Katz has… no control over her sadly, as Ally has even stated to me on multiple occasions that people “abuse him” and it’s her “job to protect him”. Flying off the rails during a phone conversation as a front desk representative isn’t protecting your service providers, its ruining their business! No receipts at this office either for cash payments. Beware of bad business conduct and unprofessionalism. If you are looking for a doctor whose front office will deem you uneducated and judge you based off your paperwork this is the place for you. This entire interaction transpired after wanting medication refill and EOB clarification on both issues

After about 4 months , I have found him to be a big improvement over some other people I have tried. He takes an interest in my life to get a clear picture of how I am doing. He is on top of the medications. He suggests changes if my mood or anxiety is off. The receptionist is professional with me and has not been an issue at all. Very glad to have found him.

This doctor went to school in Mexico. His secretary is very rude as about 100 people have posted. Dr. Katz does has some good qualities, but he's gone downhill and seems to have lost his touch. All of these 5-star ratings appear to be fake posted by Allie in his office. Be warned!!

dr. katz met with me for no longer than 3-5 mins. didn’t think he really listened that much to me/cared to hear my story- just threw a medication at me. but the worst part about seeing dr. katz is his office manager. it’s DISGUSTING that she’s working with/in contact with mentally ill individuals- people that are possibly suicidal. She’s one of the rudest people I’ve ever had the displeasure of interacting with and does not have a compassionate bone in her body. DO NOT GO HERE. if you’re dealing with a mental illness, you should NEVER be in the type of environment that is this office.

Excellent psychiatrist! He has helped me tremendously. I love his office manager!

I've seen him for four years and have no complaints. He takes the time to listen to what I need and to find the right medication for me. He's the first psychiatrist that I have seen who actually listens if I voice any objections and who is willing to work with me to find the right solution. He always takes time to answer any questions or concerns that I have. He quickly gets down to business but still makes the time to ask about what's going on with my life. Whenever I've put a call into his office, he calls me back right away. He genuinely cares about his patients!

I've tried a number of medications (and doctors) over the years, and Dr. Katz is the only doctor who's been able to find the right combination of meds. He listens, tries new things if necessary, and thanks to him my quality of life has truly improved.

I know everyone has different expectations when it comes to customer service/bedside manner, but I am dismayed by the less than favorable reviews of Dr. Frank Katz. I have been seeing Dr. Katz for at least 6 years for my ADHD and co-existing anxiety and depression. His office manager/receptionist is direct and professional and she displays clear and firm boundaries with patients that I feel is essential for working at psychiatrists office. As for Dr. Katz, I find his calm, steady and measured demeanor reassuring for a psychiatric professional. When dealing with dosages of medication and finding the right combinations of medication for my condition, I find his conservative approach refreshing. Dr. Katz always reminds me that meds are only one part of the process and that talk therapy, exercise, stress management (be it meditation, yoga...) etc...are necessary to create a "wholistic approach"(my words not his)to managing my symptoms. Bottom line, he may not be the Dr. for… everyone, but if you are looking for a specialist who is professional, respectful, direct, level-headed, pragmatic who listens to you and has your best interest in mind, go see Dr. Katz.

He's good at prescribing meds, but is robotic in manner and never remembers details about the drug that I take or any of my life circumstances.

Receptionist responded to my phone call requesting a refill on my meds that do I owe them money or have I not been there in 6 months is why the prescription was not refilled. She then proceeded to hang up on me and when I called back and had more conversation calmly with her she hung up on me once again on the third phone call I made Dr Katz answered the phone and he said that I was rude to the office manager / receptionist I asked what specifically was I rude about I just asked questions. He had no answer for that and I find that dealing with a psychiatrist, I would expect understanding, compassion, and simple kindness would certainly help a patient that obviously is there because they have problems. I do not recommend this office and especially the receptionist / office manager and beware of Dr Katz his the bedside manner is as bad as it gets.They only worried about the money.
